About

Located in South Central Los Angeles, the Pete Brown Junior Tennis program is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by providing free tennis, mentoring and education in a safe and positive environment. Marty Woods founded this program in 2009 in memory of his coach and mentor, Pete Brown. 2022 has been their best year yet! After receiving 1 of 3 grants from the Naomi Osaka Play Academy and had several players show loads of success and growth on and off the court, this year is surely one to celebrate. The program promotes junior tennis as a platform for character development, physical fitness and lifetime achievement with a focus on the importance of character, integrity and sportsmanship -- all ideals that were critically important to Mr. Pete Brown and his family and all pillars that continue to thrive with the help of an awesome, passionate team led by Anne and Marty!

Marty & Anne join me to share all their successes from 2022 and what to look forward to in the new year! They talk about new traditions they've started, players who are succeeding in college and the junior players making waves in National and International tournaments!

These episodes are always my personal favorites and I just hope you love hearing about the amazing work being down on these courts and feel inspired and encouraged to find a way to give back to the sport we all love.
