Hebrew Scriptures Isaiah 25:6-10a, The Inclusive Bible

On this mountain,

YHWH Omnipotent will prepare for all peoples

a banquet of rich food, a banquet of fine wines,

food rich and succulent, and fine, aged wines.

On this mountain God will remove

the mourning veil covering all peoples,

the shroud covering all nations,

destroying all death forever.

God will wipe away

the tears from every cheek,

and will take away the shame

of God’s people on earth, wherever they live.

YHWH has spoken.

On that Day it will be said,

“This is our God,

this is the One for whose liberation we waited,

YHWH is the One in whom we had hoped!

We rejoice exultantly in our deliverance,

for the hand of YHWH rests on this mountain!”

Epistle Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice!

Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.

Do not worry about anything,

but in everything

by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving

let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, beloved,

whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just,

whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable,

if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise,

think about these things.

Keep on doing the things

that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me,

and the God of peace will be with you.
