About
Chrystia Freeland, the deputy prime minister and minister of finance, provides an update on the federal government’s economic plan. She is joined at the news conference in Ottawa by federal ministers Sean Fraser (housing), François-Philippe Champagne (industry), Anita Anand (Treasury Board) and Marc Miller (immigration). Fraser announces a plan to reform the Apartment Construction Loan Program in order to provide low-cost loans to spur the construction of more student housing. Responding to questions from reporters, Freeland comments on reports that the government is examining a possible rebrand of the federal carbon pricing rebate system.
