Because we don’t understand the image of God that people bear, we don’t honor them like we should. We cannot honor God unless we honor those who bear His image. Every human being is created in the image of God and therefore deserves the honor of that identity. Yet, we humans fail to reflect the perfect image of God as we mistreat others in deference for ourselves. Christ was the only perfectly obedient Son who showed honor to all, and our honor is restored through him as by faith it is imputed on us.
