EPISODE 268 Another new golfing venue opened its doors this past weekend, and we were on-site at ATOMIC GOLF LAS VEGAS for the Media event before the doors officially opened on Friday. Matt, Dan, and Joe were there, and there was a lot to talk about. Atomic Golf, a competitor to TopGolf, Drive Shack, and the other Golf Rangemertainment facilities, has some features we were excited to see and some we knew were going to be basic. Episode 267 Matt has tried but still hasnt made it through season 2 of Full Swing on Netflix. This sparked a great conversation about how the show could be better for true golf fans. The Players was epic, which was exactly what the PGA Tour needed as we entered the Major season. It didnt hurt that a hurting Scottie Scheffler did his thing and became the first-ever back-to-back Players Champion. Matty G gave us the weekend FOREcast for the VGN event at Primm Valley, and we shared some info about the tourney. Joe was asking, "What defines a Major?" and had all of us stumped! EPISODE 266 Its The Players Week, and we invited our friend and Florida native, Trey Sanders, to come hang with us and talk some golf. The Legacy Golf Club got a lot of press this week. Matt, Joe, Jeremy, and Trey all played there on Sunday, and for Trey, it was his first time around the course. It was nice to hear Trey, who could be considered a course snob, have some nice things to say about The Legacy. Its a fun course with a great routing and some very challenging holes. Next up, we dove head first into FULL SWING 2. While Matt, Jeremy, and Dan have yet to watch it, Joe has already finished the second season, and Trey is almost finished with the show. After that, we got into some Players talk. We had a round of Trivia naming previous champions back to 2009. EPISODE 265 Jeremy had to call off this evening, so Matt, Joe, and Dan handled the heavy load in his absence. Matty G was up first with a positive look at this weekends Golf Forecast. The PGA Tour kicked off its Florida Swing. And another first-time winner, Austin Eckroat, earned the victory on a Monday finish. Episode 264 This is "The Sickly" episode. Matts struggling with a head cold thats completely affected his ability to talk and to think straight, thanks to some high-quality sleep deprivation. But the show must go on! Even with a slow week in the golf space. The 2024 VGN SEASON kicked off, and the guys talked about what 3 out of 4 thought were terrible greens out at Las Vegas National. There were three new champions crowned on Sunday and one lucky member won his 2024 Membership! Since Tigers SUN DAY RED launch didnt get much talk last week, the guys chimed in on Tigers new apparel line and guessed what they think the new shoes will be selling for. Anthony Kim. Yes, ANTHONY KIM is finally playing professional golf again, and its with LIV Golf. Hell be making his debut this weekend, playing the remainder of the year as a wild card. The Match had yet another installment the other night, and its trying to be better. More Golf this time around at a special place, The Park, in West Palm. Under the lights was a mistake as it didnt allow the golf course to be showcased the way it could have been. Theyre trying. There are no celebrities this time, Skins game format, but its too long, and theres too much dead air time. Episode 263 Well, that didnt go as planned. TIGER WOODS was briefly back on the PGA Tour. It was his first appearance since Augusta last year, and it certainly didnt live up to the hype again. But can you blame Tiger? People get sick, even the greatest golfers on the planet. Not everyone is immune to the Double Double like we are! Episode 262 Well, LIV GOLF made its first-ever appearance in Sin City this past weekend, and we were on-site to check out the circus. Thats not meant as a derogatory statement. Its a fun, loud, entertaining event, much like a circus. We all chimed in on what we liked, what we didnt like, and how it all compared to a PGA Tour event. I think youll be surprised at what we had to say. After that discussion, we hopped on the bashing the Waste Management Open train as the shit show that is the WASTED OPEN held up to its name. Fights, Bunker Angels, Mud Slides, you know, just the norm. However, more and more players are starting to speak up and are having public outbursts on the fans in attendance, Lastly, Tiger returns this week at Riviera and debuted his Sun Day Red line ahead of the tournament. Of course, this will break the internet, as the posts of his new shoes, polos, gloves, and hoodies are going viral already. What happens with his golf game this week? Its anyones guess, but one thing is guaranteed: well see him on Sunday wearing some Red as this is a limited-field, no-cut Signature event on the PGA Tour season. Unless he WDs??? What a conversation this was! Professional Golf Photographer and RGV World Record Setter Patrick Koenig joins us to talk about his last year traveling the country and other parts of the world to set a world record for the most 18-hole rounds of golf ever played in a calendar year. It was episode 25, way back in January 2020, when Tim last joined us to talk about ATHALONZ. A lot has changed with the shoe company based in the Phoenix Valley. After they did a fantastic job getting their shoes into the hands of some of the best athletes on the planet, when it comes to the Champions Tour and Long Drive competitions, a little thing called Covid happened. There were a lot of small brands, like Athalonz, that didnt make it through Covid. But as a smaller, direct-to-consumer shoe company with some outstanding tech, they were able to weather the storm. Several years later, theyve launched a new shoe, the MANA MANGROVE PRO, and have a second version of their successful ENVE line coming. But that might not be the most significant news regarding Athalonz. Some of you might not know that Tim Markison is a successful, no, VERY successful Patent Attorney with hundreds of patents. Many of which are involved with Athalonz. And one of the major brands in the shoe business is using their patented technology in their shoes. This was incredibly interesting, and we are eager to hear the outcome of the litigation when it starts in March. Well be sure to have Tim back on after the ruling so he can tell us more about it. EPISODE 257 It was an eventful weekend here in Vegas. All four of us from the shoe got out to Boulder Creek and played some golf. It was the first time we all teed it up in the same group since Black Desert back in July! BOULDER CREEK, as always, is in great shape for winter golf. The course is dry, firm, and fast, with some very receptive greens. Matt put his new LA GOLF A-SERIES driver shaft in play for the first time and had a lot of good things to say about the shaft. He also brought out the NEW LEVEL irons for the first time in 2024. And, if the Mayor of Tinkertown was firmly solidifying his role by changing irons three weeks into the new year, Matt also has started using the "plumb bobbing" technique when lining up his putts. We had the Hawaiian swing end with the Sony Open wrapping up. GARSEN GRIPS added another win to their repertoire with Grayson Murry draining a BIG putt to win the 3-Man playoff. The AMEX takes place this week in Palm Springs, and we covered the standings so far in our CDP VS THE WORLD Fantasy Golf League. EPISODE 245 It wasnt a difficult task to upend last weeks debacle. We tried, but youll have to be the judge to see if we made up the shitty show a week ago. Despite not having a lot of "Golf News," we still had some things to discuss. THE GOLF STOP is a new Simulator Lounge in Henderson (West Henderson, along the St Rose Corridor, to be exact) that is opening up in a few weeks, and Matt got a sneak peek at the inside of the new facility. https://thegolfstop.com/ LIV GOLF made a small sampling of a news story when their appeal for OWGR points was shot down again, which left us questioning if theyll ever abandon the escapade and focus on making their events more relevant or continue trying to make it happen. https://www.livgolf.com/ Joe finally ended his month-long hiatus of not playing Golf as Jeremy, Dan, and he played out at Boulder Creek Golf Club on Sunday. As for me, well, Im "taking a break" from Golf as some family was in town and didnt allow me to get out on the course. We did chat a little about the weird FedEx Fall point allocation process and gave a rundown of the "The Next 10," which is the end goal for guys playing in these seven events. Much to our surprise, there has not been a lot of movement in the standings. Jeremy questioned Joe about his desire to play a persimmons driver, and his response came directly from the pages of the SOUL GOLF BIBLE. The VGN has two events over the next two weeks. Our King of the Green IV contest is out at Angel Park, and then the regular seasons final event takes place at Las Vegas National. After one of the best shows weve ever put out, the Golf Gods put us back in our place. Probably the most successful Shriners tournament in recent years took place this past weekend, with Tom Kim going back-to-back and earning his third career win. Harry Hall and several other local PGA Tour Professionals had a good tournament, but the buzz was all created by Lexi Thompson, and what we believe was her excellent play for the two days she was out there. Matty G checked in with the weather FORECast for this weekend, and we covered the latest VGN event that took place out at Boulder City Muni. Matt is in a HUGE funk with his game that has now leaked into his putting. 40 Putts on Saturday was enough to send him again down the rabbit hole of whats wrong with his game.
