The Guardians have won five in a row and have the fifth-best record in the American League. They were a team I was told would struggle to finish third in the division and are now 1.5 games on the Twins. We talk about the overtime win against the Tigers. Shaw continues the tradition of me talking about a player's struggles only to see them excel the next day. A lot of offensive performers stepped up for Cleveland who came back to grab the win today after a blown save. This team never quits.

We talk about what has happened to Jose Ramirez. Since the infamous thumb injury Jose has turned into a slightly below-league-average hitter over the last two months. I get into what stands out about his performances in terms of changes. We talk about how all the players have performed in general since that series, but the focus is on Jose and some theories on what has gone wrong.

We end with a preview of the Toronto Blue Jays. They are an outstanding team with two glaring weaknesses that they will need to work on this offseason. Toronto is the stronger team on paper, but Cleveland has a chance to win multiple games this weekend. I also discuss why the Blue Jays and Guardians should consider trading with each other this offseason. Then I sneak in a few questions from the mailbag to end the show.
