It has been a rough few weeks for the Guardians. We talk about the roster moves that occurred, most that the Baltimore Orioles have claimed Kirk McCarty. We talk about who has played well over the last month and who has struggled. The top four hitters since the infamous Colorado series have been Franmil Reyes, Andres Gimenez, Josh Naylor, and Amed Rosario. We talk about how both Franmil and Amed had significant struggles but are now stepping forward. We also ask the question one has to ask is Jose Ramirez trying to play hurt actually hurting this team. Might it be better if he had rested over the past few weeks and got back to full health? 

We talk about the game itself. Shane Bieber has not given up more than three runs since May 7th. The Tigers have had a historically bad offense but apparently, Cleveland pitching has helped fix that. Even with offensive struggles, the three stars for this game were all hitters Franmil Reyes, Owen Miller, and Steven Kwan. We also get into why even with the obvious reasons for his decline James Karinchak needs to be given a chance to see if he can even remotely get back to where he was back during his rookie year.

MLB has released its mid-season top 100 prospect list. We discuss who has moved up and down. The Guardians have six players who made the cut: Daniel Espino, George Valera, Gabriel Arias, Bryan Rocchio, Gavin Williams, and Tyler Freeman. I discuss why those six-plus Nolan Jones, Will Brennan, Logan Allen, and Bo Naylor are rather clearly the top 10 prospects in the Guardians system right now. We also talk about Micah Pries who on top of his fascinating story is currently the hottest hitter in the Guardians minors. He bares watching as he is another player who will be Rule 5 eligible at the end of this year and might be a 1B/OF who could help the Guardians sooner than later. We also discuss draft strategies as we are getting very close to the draft and we discuss why even though they are picking at 16 the Guardians will more than likely not be adding anyone who can crack their deep prospect list.
