The Deadline has come and gone, and the Guardians managed to make a trade but one that is unlikely to help them this year or garner much love from the fans. I explain why I thought a trade was necessary and why the window should be viewed now. We do discuss the minor trade that occurred, why they helped the team they are chasing, and my own thoughts on Ian Hamilton going back six years. 

We get into the Guardians' loss to the Diamondbacks. It was a weird game with a weird lineup that saw two of the Guardians' young left-handed bats not used in favor of a part of righties while facing one of the best young right-handers in baseball. You know it was a weird game when Luke Maile and Nick Sandlin are two of the three stars. 

We talk about the 40-man, since there was no trade there are five to eight players that could be viewed as potential cuts but really only about five players who seem likely to be let go. The Guardians have seven players they strongly need to consider adding. It is going to be a similar story to a year ago. I also explain why it is that trading prospects can be harder in the offseason than at the deadline.
