A Mobile man died after contracting vibrio, a “flesheating bacteria” in waters off of Pensacola Beach. John Pledger, 75, was with his family watching an aerial performance of the Blue Angles in Little Sabine Bay about two weeks ago. He was in and out of the water. He had a small cut on his leg from earlier yardwork. Two days after being in the water he was rushed to a hospital emergency room with fever and severe pain.
