Grove Hill used to have several hotels to accomodate travelers who had to come to the courthouse for county business. A visit from far ends of the county would have required an overnight stay in horse and buggy days. One was the Cunningham Hotel, located south of the courthosue near where the First US Bank is today. This photo dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s.
