  • a shooting investigation launched in Lamont overnight Here's what we've learned so far.
         The shooting happened around 6:45 last night.
         Investigators say a man was shot several times and was inside this home when deputies arrived.
         KCSO says the man was taken to the hospital with wounds that do not appear to be life threatening.
         No word this morning on any possible suspects.
  • Now to a standoff that played out in southwest Bakersfield.
        Officers were called to a home yesterday afternoon on Tulane Park Place for a welfare check.. 
        While they were there... officers say they issued probable cause to arrest an 83-year-old man.
        Police say the man refused to come out of the home and made threats to shoot officers.
        But a public safety decision was made for officers to leave after they determined the man was alone inside the home.
  • A Kern County Grand Jury is revealing troubling information about California City. A new report released by the grand jury described California City as a town in a financial and leadership crisis. 
        The investigation was launched after residents made complaints.
        The report lists a number of problems... including frequent leadership turnover.
        In the past two years... there have been seven *different* city managers.
        Also, the reports cites how the city's annual budget has been approved several months late in recent years.
