— Old stories are beliefs, attitudes, and subsequent actions that are prevalent in your family line. This could be scarcity towards abundance, mistrust in relationships, lack of body love and confidence, etc. We all have these stories, and at some point, they served their purpose: they kept us safe and protected to ensure survival and family connection through decades of evolution. We stayed tied and loyal to these stories because they were handed down to us in family upbringing; simply put, we didn’t know we had a choice otherwise; until now. In her 10-day course and through the use of simple creative exercises and meditation, Aleksandra Slijepcevic will teach you how to extract these old stories, write new ones for yourself and your generations to follow, and finally step into your most authentic self. Are you ready to write a new story for yourself? — She is here, Siempre. She will not be quieted and disappear, she keeps showing her face in the mirror and your friend’s embrace. She breaks through cement, just as the ocean has taken over Venice. The truth returns, again and again, no matter how much we want to control, she has her own way. Gentle as a dove she caresses you and with a feather-light kiss dissolves your sturdy walls of defense into a flood of tears. You hear her deafening, fierce lioness roar into a world that raped her: This shall not pass! Veiled, she walks the streets and wakens people from slumber. She uplifts the fallen ones, embraces the lost and outcast. And she rises up for you, our earth and all that is sacred, igniting us to show up for the great turning. For, through her power, we can turn even the most horrific situations around and help in these times when our survival is hanging by a mere thread. You may have seen and heard her more frequently of late on the streets or felt her rumbling in your own belly and heart. The yearning for her is answered, as we allow the dams and shackles to break, to weep all our tears and laugh all of our laughter. Just like the women experienced whom I have guided to the holy cave. On their knees they surrendered to her, to embrace what’s lost, to let this pure life power surge through the womb and ignite them. They were taken home into love. To embody and live it. She beckons that we recognize this truth- she is made manifest through our bodies and luminous faces, the trees, rivers…and she has incarnated as your voice, hands, and feet. As you stroke your cat, dog, another body, you are touching her. Let her take the lead in your life. She will take you and raise you into who you really are. She will give you the courage to stand up and act in benefit to all in your labor of love. She is here. Honor her and if she calls- follow her. She will show you a greater love than you may have ever known before. — Writes Dr. Nicola VALERIA TELES INTERVIEWS DR. — You already know what it means to live a fulfilling life. You may have had glimpses of this inner knowing and clarity after meditation or other activities like skiing or playing music that help us to return to ourselves. In these moments we are present, connected, creative, and open to possibilities. However, once we step back into the fast-paced world, our default habits - to rush and react - kick back in. We feel tempted to return to the comfort of what’s familiar and easy, even though the outcomes are not ultimately healthy or fulfilling. We know that we’re not leading a fulfilling life when we don’t have enough energy, time, or whatever it takes to make meaningful choices—be it at home, work, school, or in relationships. Instead, we can train ourselves to return to ourselves – to the field of non-judging awareness within us. In returning to ourselves, we reconnect with what’s present, what’s important, and our potential. The possibilities that exist in this vast, open field of awareness are endless. Mindfulness empowers us to come back to ourselves, again and again, so we may see more clearly and have the courage to take intentional steps, even amidst chaos and uncertainty. Valeria Teles interviews Dr. Shalini Bahl — is a mindfulness coach, an award-winning researcher, keynote speaker, and Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Search Inside Yourself teacher. — In the field of psychology, attachment theory is one of the principal theories for understanding child development. Beginning in infancy, a child begins to form an attachment with their caregiver(s). In turn, these early interactions become internalized as “internal working models” that can affect behavior as they develop into adulthood. A key concept within this theory is that of attachment styles, which can describe the lasting feelings of trust and affection that characterize the relationship with caregivers. These attachment styles are frequently used as explanations for how people behave in relationships later on in adulthood. Children are born with a predisposition to form attachments to caregivers who are sensitive and consistently available. Sensitive caregiving creates strong, lasting bonds between infants and adults which last into adulthood. It can be difficult for children who have had inconsistent or hostile childhoods to change how they interact in relationships but with the help of a therapist, they can realize how their early experiences have affected them and take steps to correct those problems. Vincent has spent over a decade learning and working with thousands of people in varying capacities, including hospitals, clinics, in-patient units, homeless shelters, school systems, and private practice. With an extensive background in psychology, mindset, behavior, neurology, and physiology, he uses his knowledge to help individuals unlock and achieve their unique definition of success. Vin received his undergrad degree in Psychology with accolades from Psi-Chi national honor society and went on to achieve his Master’s in Social Work with a clinical focus; he was a fully licensed psychotherapist at the age of 23. It was around his 9th year in the mental health field he wanted to create a more meaningful impact through genuine connection with his clients. That is when Life Coaching peaked Vin’s interest as he began studying it, initially, for his own personal development. He hired his own coach and fell in love with all that coaching entails, especially the ways in which it created long-lasting change in his own life. Vin then pursued his Strategic Intervention coaching certification from Tony Robbin’s RMT online training, shifting his focus to providing greater results as a Mindset and Performance Coach. At this same time, Vin had been called to become a FDNY firefighter (which was one of his lifelong dreams aside from being a therapist). He served as a firefighter during the Covid-19 pandemic year while simultaneously building his coaching practice -- and later resigned from the FDNY to serve people in the way he felt best utilized his gifts and passion. Vin is continuing to expand his coaching practice as it now remains his full-time focus. He aims to teach about mindset, strategy, goal setting, and creating life transformations. Currently embarking on his 12 th year in mental health, Vin hopes to help his clients achieve a holistic standard of living that targets peoples’ mindset, sense of fulfillment, and overall quality of life. — Many people feel intimidated by meditation. With no idea how it feels, they may dismiss their efforts as "not getting it" or "not doing it right. Author Peggy Ludington's early struggle with this uncertainty led her to share her method, which takes out the guesswork. Her book teaches four simple exercises that demystify the process and create a clear path to the meditative state in a matter of minutes. As readers learn each exercise, they internalize and relax into the sensory experience of meditation. For beginners, the exercises slowly acquaint them with the meditative state and reassure them that it is a state of full awareness under their complete control. For the seasoned meditator, the instructions for this journey offer a fresh perspective and may allow a level of awareness beyond that previously achieved. Valeria Teles interviews Peggy Ludington — the author of Peggy Ludington has excelled in the many facets of her life—lawyer, artist, writer, farmer, environmental activist, wife, and mother. However, the path to this fruitful life was rocky. Growing up in an alcoholic home left its shrapnel in her psyche. Then, as she embarked on a promising legal career, her father—and mentor—was arrested. The drama that followed blew a hole in her heart and her ambitions. Anxiety and depression descended. Therapy helped. Meditation was the game changer. But it took years to find her way to it, and then not easily. With her kids in college, she felt emotionally adrift. A sweat lodge experience rekindled her teenage fascination with meditation. But how to learn? In search of the “right way,” she read volumes by experts, listened to their recordings, attended workshops. Her early attempts left her empty and wanting something more. Finally, Peggy discovered that meditation should be simple, that there was no one "right way." A friend guided her through a meditation so she could experience what it felt like. This freed her to cobble together her own path, one that includes the best parts of all those teachings. She shares this path with readers in Meditation Manual—Simple Directions For A Life-Changing Practice. Meditation now serves as the calming hub of her busy and abundant life. By expanding the richness of her inner life, meditation has expanded the richness of the life she is living. Peggy believes meditation is an important life skill, a powerful tool in the quest for wellness and wholeness. Her goal is to demystify the process to make it easy and accessible for everyone. She hopes this book lights the way for others seeking the health and wellbeing benefits of a quiet mind and sitting in stillness. — Mindfulness is being in a state of total awareness of the contents of our minds, which makes us more conscious of what we’re thinking and feeling. And, by being in this state of complete awareness, we can remain observant of our thoughts and feelings with acceptance and non-judgment because we have a heightened awareness of what is occurring in our minds. This is when we are in a pure state of mind, and it is in this state when you can guide yourself wisely, pointing yourself in the right direction instead of one that can be hurtful or harmful to you. This state of complete awareness that Mindfulness puts you in won’t let you escape or choose something bad or unwise because you will be conscious of the choices you are making, and you will want to make the best ones. But, if you don’t, that means you weren’t letting Mindfulness do what it does so well—keep you present with total awareness. What Mindfulness does is it helps us maintain equanimity in the face of change and accept it maturely with- out reacting. This is the type of “mature consciousness” we want to be in so we can be aware of when we slip into duality. — “Living through a traumatic experience often alters our perspective in a way that makes us better partners, employees, leaders, family members, and ultimately, better people. If you find yourself unable to love the version of you born through trauma, offer yourself tenderness. If you aren’t able to release your daily heartache, offer yourself consolation. If you’d rather forget your traumatic experience than relive one moment, offer yourself empathy. If you can’t stop yearning to return to the life you used to live, offer yourself patience. If you can’t forgive yourself for what you view as failures — real or imagined — offer yourself mercy. — Once we recognize the relative and subjective nature of the concept of health, we can begin to explore how the systems view of life can help us develop a corresponding systems view of health. Systems thinking is process thinking, and hence the systems view sees health as an ongoing process. Rather than defining health as a static state of perfect well-being, the systemic conception of health implies continual activity and change, reflecting the organism's creative response to environmental challenges. Since a person's condition will always depend on the natural and social environment, there can be no absolute level of health independent of this environment. The continual changes of one's organism in relation to the changing environment will naturally include temporary phases of ill health, and it will often be impossible to draw a sharp line between health and illness. Moreover, health is a multidimensional process. From the systems point of view, the experience of illness results from patterns of disorder that may become manifest at various levels of the organism — biological as well as psychological — and also in the various interactions between the organism and the larger systems in which it is embedded. This means that life's biological, cognitive, social, and ecological dimensions, which are integrated in the systems view of life, correspond to similar dimensions of health. Valeria Teles interviews Fritjof Capra — the author of Fritjof Capra, Ph.D., physicist and systems theorist, was a founding director (1995-2020) of the Center for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley, California. He is a Fellow of Schumacher College (UK) and serves on the Council of Earth Charter International. Capra is the author of several international bestsellers, including The Tao of Physics, The Web of Life, and The Science of Leonardo. — Shamanism is a way of walking upon the planet, and a way of seeing things that our society has taught us to veil. It is living a life divinely connected to Spirit, to our Earth, and in deep gratitude for the blessings our planet and community bring to us through our joint experiences. It is highlighted by the enactment of sacred ceremony, an art all but lost in only a few remaining cultures. Shamanism is entering into an altered state of consciousness in order to transcend the ego and the thinking mind to connect with inner wisdom and higher guidance from the spirit world. The practice of shamanism is the oldest practice of humankind, dating back over 100,000 years, and is practiced all over the world in all cultures. Shamans have been considered healers, knowers, seers of the dark and wisdom sharers. A Shaman is a Master or Mistress of entering the altered states and journeying into higher spiritual realms to help bring through higher wisdom, grace and guidance. Valeria Teles interviews Keyla Sereen Ohs — she is a Shamanic Healer, meditation teacher, and the Owner/ Operator of Sereen Spirit Healing and Retreat Centre in beautiful West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. Keyla runs a trauma informed practice that helps people remember their true path and purpose, heal unprocessed trauma experiences which may create illness in the body, and move into deeper relationship with one's spirit, community, and the planet. Trained in the traditional Zulu (South African) Shamanic path, Keyla's offerings include her transformational Lighthouse Program (an annual online offering), meditation, Shamanic energy healing, spiritual mentorship and plant medicine as avenues for wholeness, self-discovery, and personal growth. Keyla was formerly a competitor for the Canadian World Figure Skating team for over a decade. She lives with her husband, 3 pups, 2 cats and 200+ plants in West Kelowna, B.C. — “After 240 days of steeping and integrating I was ready to start the discovery phase of my life. Discovery of my purpose, reconnecting with friends, reading and learning again, I knew my life was going to go in a new direction, but frankly I had no clue what, how, when and where. I only knew that I could trust it would find its way to me and it did. When I heard myself laughing again repetitively, that was the true confirmation: I had come out of the cocoon and I could finally spread my wings. I consider myself to now be on my never-ending discovery journey. Discovery of myself, of others, discovery of how I can best show up in this world and have the best, most positive impact possible. I don’t have a label for who I am becoming other than I finally came to believe more and more everyday that I am enough, that I can connect, that I love to connect with others and that most of the things that I had believed were not available to me are, in fact, abundantly available to me and so are they, to you.” — says Janylène Valeria Teles interviews Janylène Turcotte ( a.k.a. JT) — she is a former executive who made the leap from the corporate world to become a clinical hypnotherapist, licensed RTT therapist, ICF certified coach and hypnocoach. She’s developed a results-driven approach to life and career transition, leveraging her radical transformation, professional expertise and numerous certifications and credentials to offer second to none, one-on-one hypnocoaching and group programs. She hosts the podcast “It’s Just a Belief,” is the founder of HypnoCoach.ca and is the co-founder of QUEEN B, holistic health. Janylène supports entrepreneurs and executives who are aware they stand in the way of their own professional or personal expansion and need to be rapidly guided away from the status quo. They’re self-aware and know that despite all their efforts, seminars, courses something is still blocking them, or not quite where they want it to be. Then, we create those moments of absolute clarity, power and confidence that allow them to break free of their limitations and leap forward. — I have faced down some terrible things in my life. I’ve had doctors make mistakes that almost killed me; I’ve been in the ICU of the world’s scariest hospitals. I’ve had traumatic surgeries and procedures performed on me under emergency conditions. People less sick than me have died right next to me. And if I’m still alive, there must be a reason. I want to use the life I’ve been given as a way to help others. I let the losses teach me what they needed to teach me. Even if I was thrown under the wave, I learned how to stand up, to recover over and over again, and to survive. I pulled from my faith and my grit, and in the middle of all of it, a soul grew. It made me strong. I began to thrive. I developed an immense capacity to endure hard times. I understood suffering (as much as a white, middle-aged American woman can under- stand suffering). Suffering became a companion and a teacher. I learned a lot about myself and the world, about my family, my faith, my priorities, and my values. After everything I experienced, I realized that other people experienced similar loss, heartbreak, and dysfunction, with no effective coping mechanisms. I wanted to help. — Says Cindy Valeria Teles interviews Cindy Finch — the author of “When Grief Is Good: Turning Your Greatest Loss into Your Biggest Lesson.” Cindy Finch is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Therapist, Coach who specializes in helping people through their darkest times. Cindy trained at the Mayo Clinic and has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, HuffPost, and CURE magazine. A survivor of traumatic life events, Cindy writes and works from lived experiences. — Are you a little too comfortable with self-loathing? Tired of feeling like you are not enough? Carrington Smith spent a lifetime trying to be someone else—to fit in, to be loved, to keep the peace, and to make others happy. Until finally, Carrington discovered that her own path to happiness wasn’t based on fitting in but on standing out—celebrating her uniqueness and owning her past. Candid and raw, her book: Blooming takes you on a treasure hunt to discover the gifts in the shit. Shit is quite literally fertilizer. It is in the messes, failures, trauma, and difficulties of life that we discover what we need to bloom into our greatness. From trauma to triumph, through the depths of sexual assault, religious mind-fuckery, family rejection, body dysmorphia, mid-life metamorphosis, physical scarring, and death into happiness, forgiveness, empathy, purpose, belonging, and joy, Carrington’s work is a poignant, powerful account of finding your way through the shit. Valeria Teles interviews Carrington Smith — the author of Carrington Smith is a single mom, attorney, business owner, and executive search professional. Despite being born with a silver spoon in her mouth, life gave her a hard kick in the tail. She has survived sexual assault, two divorces, piles of debt, abuse, religious mind games, the death of loved ones, and the loss of close friends. In her bestselling debut memoir, Carrington combines wit and wisdom to share her journey through the shit, with a positive attitude and a shift of mindset, into a life bursting with joy, opportunity, and purpose. A graduate of UT Austin and Tulane Law School, Carrington resides in Austin, Texas, with her two teenage boys. — “Life is made up of relationships, and each relationship is a mirror of your Self.” What kind of masks have you been wearing to survive? Until now, you haven’t really seen your masks because you were looking out at life, warding off triggers, defending against outside threats. As you begin to look inward, you will see your masks and understand why they’ve become part of your life. The prisoners in Plato’s cave didn’t want to abandon the life they’d grown accustomed to because they felt naked, vulnerable, and were terrified about leaving. And it’s OK that they felt that way. Likewise, we don’t need to shun our survival tactics, call our egos bad, or feel ashamed about our masks. We just need to embrace who we are and build our paths from this new, deeper understanding. We need to accept all of our faults and shortcomings and move into a higher consciousness, which will then allow us to view our past experiences as gifts contributing to a future, higher life—a life we all deserve to live. Valeria Teles interviews Arda Ozdemir — the author of Arda Ozdemir is a personal growth coach, spiritual mentor, qigong teacher, and the founder of Rise 2 Realize wellness organization. He has helped thousands of people awaken to their fullest potential and experience ultimate happiness. As a former finance executive in Silicon Valley, Arda embarked on his own personal transformation journey when he was looking to heal his physical health issues along with his depression and anxiety. — Feeling stuck? You're not alone. Millions of people are stuck in meaningless jobs, empty relationships, and difficult situations, repeating the same unhealthy patterns over and over again. You know there's something more. Deep down, you've been having that uncomfortable gnawing feeling. Fortunately, there IS an answer and it is much more accessible and available to you than you may think!! Now is the time to stop searching and finally get more clarity, more meaning, and discover your life's true purpose. People so often try to overcome an obstacle in their life on their own but then they get discouraged... especially when there doesn't appear to be any real reason for why they can't grasp that success. Sometimes it is just that they need a wee bit of encouragement, a boost or a different perspective to gain the motivation they need to achieve their goals. Truth is: if a person REALLY wanted to do something and could do it on their own - they most likely would have done it already! One reason that people fall short of their goals is that they keep attempting to solve the same problems with the same toolkit – themselves! How can a toolkit be expected to fix itself? You must have a clear, workable strategy that suits the way that YOU are wired, you need to clear out any suspicious wiring (negative self-talk) holding you back and then you need to flat out get stuff done. But of course, not just any kind of stuff... the right stuff, at the right time, in the right order… A wee bit like playing music — says Moira Valeria Teles interviews Moira Hutchison — the author of As an Intuitive Coach, Mindset Mentor, Energy Healer, Meditation Teacher and Tarot Consultant. Moira Hutchison guides her clients to access the inherent power they have available when they ignite their personal trinity of trust, inner awareness, and self-confidence. Moira works with professionals who have a feeling that there is something better in life for them, but they have no idea how to access it. However, they have a yearning to be guided by their intuition and align with their unique calling. What makes her distinctive and different in this work is that she has developed the ability to take complex energetic and spiritual ideas and interpret them in ways that people find easy to understand, integrate and implement. — Crystal Surgery is a new style of crystal healing, founded in the 1990’s by Vivien Schapera. In Crystal Surgery, the crystals are used in very specific ways as tools for “operating” on both the energy field and the energy body. The energy field is the electromagnetic force field, which emanates from the physical body and the energy body, and surrounds the physical body. The energy body is the energetic duplicate of the physical body and is made up of etheric tissue. Etheric tissue consists of “materials” from the etheric dimension, in contrast to the physical body, which is made up of materials from the earthly dimension. Valeria Teles interviews Vivien Schapera — She is a Teacher, Energy Healer, Author, Founder Of Fourwinds Academy For The Healing Arts & Sciences, A School For Training Healers. Vivien Schapera has rare expertise in each of our 3 layers of existence – the physical, the mental and the spiritual; and she specializes in translating intuitive, energetic and spiritual dynamics into practical information for celebrating life. She began her career by training first in clinical psychology, and then in the Alexander Technique, a hands-on method for retraining neuromuscular dynamics. Through this work, Vivien developed a refined sensitivity to energy, leading her to add healing to her skills. In Everyday Magic (2002 and 2020), Vivien relates how the spirit world guided her, from childhood in Apartheid South Africa, growing up with her LGBTQ brother, through coming to the USA, and founding FourWinds Academy, a school for training healers(1999). Vivien's other books include How to Lose Weight and Gain Money (2004) and Guided Lessons for Students of the Alexander Technique (2010). In 2020, Vivien published an award-winning, groundbreaking textbook, The Complete Guide to Crystal Surgery, introducing the world to a new form of crystal healing. When not teaching, healing or writing, Vivien can be found gardening, cooking and spending time with her two granddaughters. Other interests include travel, photography and making YouTube videos. Vivien lives in Cincinnati, OH with her husband and two cats. — When considering what makes people change in therapy we often focus on things like: how willing a client is to change, the relational fit between therapist and client as well as the efficacy of therapeutic interventions. But what about self-compassion? This doesn’t seem to get top billing when thinking about how change happens. In order to seek healing, you need to be able to value yourself and see yourself as worthy of healing. We cannot heal what we don’t love or feel care for. Cultivating self-compassion brings love, care and cooperation into your system instead of division and intolerance. And when you can entertain the idea that you might not be inherently wrong or bad, you have taken a significant step in healing. — “Spiritual self-care is essential for the spiritually attuned individual. It is an area worth exploring if you are desiring expansion, deeper connection with all that is, and discovering your Divine purpose on this earthly plane. This can be done through mindfulness and meditation, practicing rituals of your faith and beliefs, attending spiritual workshops and retreats, seeking like-minded and like-hearted spiritual support, reading spiritual literature and through connection with nature. Spirituality is deeply personal and varies by individual. Part of the spiritual path is discovering yourself and your personal truths. Much can be gained through spiritual self-care practices.” Suzie DeVaughn’s work provides an in-depth perspective on the categories of self-care including: physical, psychological, interpersonal/social, professional, spiritual, and energy management/clearing. It gives us awareness, inspiration, ideas, and techniques regarding the effective use of self-care as the foundation of healthy and mindful living. This helps to counterbalance personal and professional life stress resulting in increased resiliency, energy optimization, balance and wholeness. What we need is a self-care movement in which each person loves, cares, and takes responsibility for one's self. By acknowledging and responding to our needs, we have more energy and compassion to help others. In this scenario, everyone benefits. Valeria Teles interviews Suzie DeVaughn — the author of Suzie DeVaughn, LMSW, REV received her BA from University of Kansas, a Master’s of Social Work from Wichita State University and has Compassion Fatigue Educator and Therapist Certifications from the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. — Our true nature is simple and beautiful, thoughts are complicated and intricate. Learn to know the difference. Our true nature is always present, in each moment, as it is now. We didn’t create it and we can’t stop it. Yet we’ve been taught that what we can’t perceive with our mind and senses is not real, that intuition is unreliable and living like this is dangerous, immature and irresponsible. The truth is contrary to this. Our thoughts and understandings are by their very nature temporary and fragile. They come from the assumption that we can actually know or control things. And so we defend, attack, withdraw, and even kill or die for these beliefs. But when we do, the essence of our true spirit is brutally pushed aside and we lose so much of life. Valeria Teles interviews Ruth Bar Shalev — the author of RuthBarShalev is a student/disciple, coach and coaching teacher, leader of innovative projects whose time has come, writer, creator, mother of four and grandmother of three, almost 60 years old. Ruth has been coaching for the past 30 years and is one of the pioneers of coaching in Israel. She has led and facilitated breakthrough processes in many different fields, working with the military, women’s organizations, the Israeli Ministry of Education, and on inter Arab – Jewish relations, both in Israel and abroad. Ruth has coached thousands of people, hundreds of businesses, startups and state institutions, and trained dozens of coaches. For the past 18 years she has developed a way of coaching and named it: The Art of What Really Is. For the past three years she has been writing, and has published the book “WHAT REALLY IS” alongside a rich website whose vision and beauty emerged from a life journey, a journey that seeks truth in her personal life, in the life of her loved ones and of the people she had and has the privilege to coach. The knowledge which is at the core of all of Ruth's work, wishes to enable a person to remember the wisdom with which we are born, the wisdom of the soul, and to live it in each and every moment and situation. The book, the website and especially the coaching of The Art of What Really Is, teaches a person to distinguish between his or her true nature, and his or her thoughts and the reality their thoughts present to them. True knowledge is motion, a new vision being revealed and not fixed ideas and conclusions. Therefore it requires a high level of devotion, of giving oneself over, so that the motion, the art of life, can reveal itself. — Do you ever wonder what your life would be like if you had the body of your dreams without stressing over it? To be healthy and at your ideal body weight? Not having to suffer through exercise you don't like or being on the diet that you can't wait to end? The human body is absolutely amazing. It can self-heal almost any sickness and stay at a happy body weight. It can even tell you how to get there. Your body has been programmed for millions of years. Now you need to connect with it to become aware of what it needs. Communicating is an easy process. Get to know and crave food that is best for your body, which exercise or diet is ideal, and joyful for you, and how to stay healthy during times when you don't have a chance to be your body’s best buddy. The weight-loss and drug industries are some of the highest profitable businesses in the world for one main reason. Their solutions rarely work for the problems. People who don’t find help come back to try another diet next year, another miracle pill, or hope to stick with a new kind of exercise program. There is a small chance that they will succeed. These industries are well aware of it. Just as you cannot control your breathing or your digestion, you cannot boss your body around. The only way to win is to become friends with your body. You have to care enough to gain your body's trust in order for it to work with you. Valeria Teles interviews Otakara Klettke — the author of the Otakara Klettke is a former investigative TV reporter and also the author of the children’s fictional book series Detective Bella Unleashed. Her audience calls Otakara the Body Whisperer and after the rise of the pandemic in 2020, she owned up to the title and started teaching people to become their own body whisperers. She has an unconventional method and coaching that brings joy and achievement to all her clients. The success of her book, her knack for communicating to a broad audience, and her ability to break down complicated subjects into compelling yet easy-to-understand information have earned Otakara many interviews on podcasts such as Learn True Health, Discover Your Talent, as well as on other radio, webinars, and workshops. — People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. … I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive — said Joseph Campbell. Young people want parents to listen more, be more fun and relaxed, be more respectful, and to be less judgmental and more honest. Active listening means we repeat what we think we understood even if we don’t agree, including feelings, so the other person can check for accuracy. We don’t assume we know what the other person is feeling. Good communication aims to understand underlying needs and motivations, which may not be conscious. We pay attention to learning about different temperaments and personality types, which helps us be understanding and therefore more patient. — Every moment of being alive is truly a miracle: An opportunity to open and receive the blessing of discovering the most intimate relationship we will ever have. Once we are here and have sufficiently landed our spirit down into the holy flesh and bones of our human experience, real life begins. The life of this present moment is then not only here to be experienced: we also get to participate, contribute and respond with more and more agency. We get to discover how to wield the gentle art of stewarding a genuine life. We are not just here to merely survive the awakening process; we also inherited a deeper potential from the wisdom miracle of our origins and that is to thrive. Being of service and benefiting the whole that we now recognize we are intrinsically one with becomes the primary motive. The kiss that we have always wanted becomes the kiss that we are now able to give. Not the overriding, spiritual bypass, ‘make nicety nice, hide & seek, appease and kiss ass kiss’ – but the kiss of integrity that lands and reverberates as a benediction, a prayer and confirmation of the real. No matter what fates we have been given; inherent in our birth is the opportunity of a lifetime, to receive, allow and evolve the mystery of being human by being Love itself. — Domestic violence is not a new issue in the military, nor is it a small issue. According to a December 2019 report to Congress titled, “Military Families and Intimate Partner Violence: Background and Issues for Congress,” there were 16,912 reported incidents in Fiscal Year 2018, and “there has been little change in the rate or number of reported incidents … since FY2009.” In fact, there has been little change in more than twenty years, as there were more than 18,000 reports annually as far back as 2001. And these are just the reported incidents. The Bureau of Justice Statistics found that law enforcement is notified in only half of domestic violence incidents. Lara’s experience reveals the human side of these statistics, which affect not just those on military bases, but in households all over the world. Lara M. Sabanosh reveals her emotional decades-long story of fear, deceit, and abuse that ends with the disappearance and death of her husband. Lara provides a unique perspective of being trapped in the same failed domestic abuse system that she worked for, and is sharing her experience in hopes to bring about change in the system and mindset of the abused—they are not alone. Valeria Teles interviews Lara M. Sabanosh — the author of Lara Sabanosh grew up in various parts of the country and for a time, lived overseas in Guantanamo Bay (GTMO), where she was an education service facilitator at the Fleet and Family Support Center and became acting director in December 2013. She spent much of her adult life as a wife, mother and student, eventually completing two doctoral degrees. Six years in the making, her new book, Caged, is an honest and introspective memoir detailing the never-before-told other side of an international, headline story, taking readers through the first twenty years of her tumultuous marriage to Christopher Tur, to events as she lived them on the night he went missing and the aftermath. Sabanosh is currently retired from government service, residing quietly in Pensacola, Florida, surrounded by her loving family, dogs, and grand puppies. To learn more about Lara M.
