As part of an earlier Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) monitoring program, the Town had tested...   For the written story, read here >> https://www.signalsaz.com/articles/prescott-valley-shuts-down-four-wells-after-positive-pfas-tests/

This Day In History, August 2nd, 2022 – "We the People"

It was just 246 years ago today, August 2, 1776, when delegates from the thirteen colonies signed the Declaration of Independence. We celebrate Independence Day on July 4, but this was not when the Declaration was signed, only adopted by the Second Continental Congress. On this date, the official John Hancocks were put to paper. This was not just a simple task, for, in reality, all of those who autographed the document were personally admitting to treason, and in truth, the King had every one of them marked for death. In fact, John Hancock, as President of the Continental Congress,...   For the written story, read here >> https://www.signalsaz.com/articles/this-day-in-history-august-2nd-2022-we-the-people/

On July 8, the City of Prescott learned that recent test results found the presence of man-made chemicals called perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) in two of its water production wells located in the airport area. While PFOA and PFOS are not currently regulated by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) nor the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ), there is research evidence to support the possibility that these compounds may be harmful to human health....   For the written story, read here >> https://www.signalsaz.com/articles/mayor-goode-talk-of-the-town-prescott-water-wells/

It was just 167 years ago today, July 28, 1855 when the second U.S.S. Constellation was commissioned into the U.S. Navy. Now, why is this ship so deserving of our attention? Well, the Navy didn’t know it then, but the Constellation ended up being our last sail-powered ship built. With technology improving, the rest of American ships would have engines and a screw (propeller) with it, though many still had sails as well. What’s also cool about the Constellation, is that is it still around today, a living history of great American Seamanship. Located in Baltimore, the ship many not...   For the written story, read here >> https://www.signalsaz.com/articles/this-day-in-history-july-28th-2022-u-s-s-constellation/
