In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals most recent loss to the Edmonton Oilers. This is a very important road trip for the Capitals as they are fighting for their playoff lives.  

The Caps were looking to pick up some much-needed points on the Western Road trip. What do they have to show for it so far? Nothing. After getting blanked by the Jets the Caps fell to the Oilers in Edmonton by score of 7-2. The Oilers scored two quick goals and I thought the game was already over. The Caps answered back with two goals from Ivan Mironeschenko and Connor McMichael.

Ultimately Connor McDavid, Leon Draisatil and Zach Hyman, were too much for the Capitals..

The Caps were simply outskated outscored and just are the better team.

Ryan Leonard named to Hockey East ‘All-Rookie Team’ I've said it before, and I'll say it again I would really like to see Leonard playing in Washington next season. I know that's just my want, but I think he's ready. And GM Brian Maclellan thinks he's ready too. Leonard ended up with 48 total points (25g, 23a) in 34 games for the Eagles - the fourth-highest total in the nation.
