Forward by FAITH --- What is faith?

Pastor Tony Liuzzo (Lead Pastor) - Hebrews 11:1 (Matthew 8:26; 17:20; Mark 9:23-24; Luke 17:5; Romans 1:16-17; Hebrews 10:38; 11:1-3 & 7; Genesis 12:2; Ephesians 2:8; Romans 1:20)   Have you struggled thinking that you don't have enough faith? Is faith something that you build up or can you ever have enough? Faith is so simple, and yet, it can be confusing. Some passages say things like, "O ye of little faith" and other passages say we only need the "faith the size of a mustard seed" to move mountains. Which is it? Let's break down some of the misconceptions of faith and answer the question, "What is faith?"   Series description: The Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. The Bible teaches us that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains. We know that it was by faith that Daniel faced the lion's den, Noah built the ark, Moses saw the sea split, and David experienced the giant fall! Faith is necessary and essential to experience victories in our lives, but do we really understand Faith? Hebrews 11 not only explains faith, but it illustrates the power of faith through the stories of God's people living out their faith. In order to move forward by faith as Christians, we must have a full understanding of faith. This series will take us through Hebrews 11 to discover the power of faith and how to live it out!   Forward by FAITH "What is faith?" — Faith is confidence and trust. — Faith is trusting and obeying what God says. — Faith is trust in what you cannot see. If we pray ... (PRAYER!)

Pastor Tony Liuzzo (Lead Pastor) - 2 Chronicles 7:14 (2 Chronicles 7:14; Proverbs 16:18; Hebrews 4:15-16; James 5:16; Luke 11:9)   The Bible teaches us that prayer has the power to change our circumstances, defeat our enemies, and even move mountains. The question is, why don't we pray more? 2 Chronicles gives us the instructions on how to heal our broken land. God's instructions are for us to pray and seek the face of God. It's time to make application to this! We often gather in church to fellowship, hear preaching, and worship together. Let's pray!

In Hebrews, God takes this to a deeper level and it is life changing. Simply put, you are not meant to be alone! Church is about God's people coming together because life is better together!   BETTER TOGETHER! 1. You need to be connected to others. 2. Today, Pastor Tony, Pastor Chris and Pastor Matt will be answering questions that have been submitted throughout our teaching series. Questions being answered include, "Do infants that die go to heaven?", "How can I know when I am filled with the Holy Spirit?", and "If after salvation our sins are forgiven, do we have to continue to confess our sin to God?" Each answer will be supported by Scripture and reinforced with practical illustrations! This series is for everyone who wants to deepen their commitment to God and His Word!   Discipleship Deep Dive "Q&A: Answering Questions About the Christian Faith" 1. If when we are saved God forgives all our sins, do we need to confess our sins to God anymore? 2. If Jesus was God in the flesh, who was he talking to when he asked if it was possible for him to pass the cup from him? 3. Even though the original scriptures came from God, and were inspired by God, the Bible has been revised, with many different versions throughout history. Would this process also be considered inspiration? 4. Do infants who die go to heaven? 5. Is there such a thing as the “age of accountability”? 6. If the filling of the Holy Spirit is not a one time thing but happens many times over the life of a believer, how can I know when I am filled with the Holy Spirit? 7. Is it ok for Christians to observe communion in their home and not in the context of the local church? 8. Will we remember our lives and relationships when we are in heaven? 9. If baptism does not save us, what does 1 Peter 3:21 mean?     Series description: Welcome to Discipleship Deep Dive!  We are excited to offer this summer training program designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to grow in your faith and effectively share the Gospel with others.  During each session, our pastors and leaders will provide engaging lectures, interactive discussions, and practical application opportunities to help you grow in your understanding of the Christian faith and develop the skills you need to share your faith with confidence.  We are offering these summer equipping sessions as a way for the whole family to strengthen their faith. We think, "I've got this!" Then, when things fall apart, we cry out to God for help. There is nothing wrong with crying out to God for help, but the real problem is that we need Him every step of the way. He was here to demonstrate and communicate the Father's love. Of course, His greatest example was the cross, but Jesus displayed the Father's love in other ways before He went to the cross. Luke 22 is a powerful example of our true love. If you read this passage, you might not view this as a display of love, but Jesus was teaching the power of true love in action. There is no greater example of love than our Father's love!   A Father's Love I. Love speaks truth A. warn them B. confront them II. Love stands with others III. Love leads by example

BE LIGHT: Lightening our souls to light the world. (Priorities)

Pastor Bryce Copeland (Student Pastor) - Matthew 6 (Matthew 6:1-34)   In this series we’ve been looking at what it means to be light—working to lighten our souls to be lights in the world. In this episode, we will look at Matthew 6 and identify four more things that can weigh us down.   Series description: Christians are called to be salt and light. Salt is savory, light is seen and bright. When we are lighting the world as we are called to, the world around us sees our good works and is influenced to glorify God. Unfortunately, our souls can get heavy with sin and distractions that keep us from being the light. In this three-week journey, we will explore how the burdens of life and the world have dimmed our light, hindering our ability to radiate the love and message of Jesus. Discover the wisdom Jesus imparts to lift the burdens of our souls, enabling us to shine brightly as beacons of hope in a darkened world. Rediscover how to lighten your soul and embrace your role as the salt and light of the world.     BE LIGHT: Lightening our souls to light the world. Priorities    4 Rocks of Matthew 6 1. Performance — charitable/righteous deeds — prayer — fasting 2. Unforgiveness 3. Materialism 4. Anxiety   There are two paths to take: — Keep your priorities straight. Seek God's Kingdom and let everything else fall in line. — Seek first my kingdom, and my sinful desires, and culture's lies.   CHALLENGE "Be bold enough to identify what is weighing you down, and humble enough to give it over to God."
