In advance of the oncoming spooky season, we covered the 1989 ghost story The Woman in Black, a made-for-tv British feature. Notable fact: the great Nigel Kneale wrote the screenplay for this one. One of our favorite things to do is check out films by our favorite filmmakers when they branch out beyond the strict boundaries of the horror genre. Behold David Cronenberg’s A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, based on the graphic novel written by John Wagner with artwork by Deadworld’s Vince Locke.
