The Vaccine & Pregnancy

On our 2021 holiday special episode we will be discussing the COVID-19 vaccine and pregnancy. As part of our special edition episode, we are turning our eye to the community and talking to an Ottawa-based mother. Michelle is a mom to one 2-year old daughter with another child on the way.  Pregnant people currently have lower COVID-19 vaccination rates than the general population in Ontario, yet are at higher risk for severe illness and complications related to COVID-19 infections in pregnancy. As of Oct. 3, 2021, only 68% of pregnant individuals have had the first dose, and less than 60% are fully vaccinated. It is critically important to increase vaccine confidence and uptake in this population by sharing consistent and credible information about the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines and the known morbidity and mortality risks of COVID-19 infection in pregnancy. Visit the PCMCH COVID-19 Vaccine Information Page https://linkprotect.cudasvc.com/url?a=http%3a%2f%2fwww.pcmch.on.ca%2fCOVID-19Vaccine%2f&c=E,1,gj7J3dAXFTacYloNi62Ej8sOzhqG8W5bVOhR33IrTtyXrMmwBPKY7BQfTv2cVr6AhPrX29fO7_uuLH7ZTDz_F4iKUKpsx8YLiF77llEa&typo=1 for more information and related resources.
