About

This week, we're covering two topics that are close to our families!

First, Lauren expands on the Demon House which is the haunted house she attended in Monongahela, PA. This week she is covering the legends about the true crime events that took place at the mansion before it was made into an attraction. It had previously been known as the McCue Mansion. Sometime in the late 1860s, a young woman named Carla was transferred the land from her uncle. What did they discover when excavating for the original mansion? Was Carla herself a witch or a healer? Rumor is they unleashed an evil that is found in the Demon House to this day.

Next, Felicia discusses one of her dad's childhood folklore monsters from his time growing up in Costa Rica. The duendes are comparable to dwarves, gnomes, and leprechauns but they have their roots more in Latin American, Iberian, and Ibero American culture. Depending on the location and version of the story, duendes can be playful tricksters full of mischief or wicked punishers of children. Listen to hear Felicia's personal twist on the duendes and someone's possible real life encounter.
