In the February 22, 2024, issue of Western Ag Reporter, Barbara Intermill, author of “Cowgirl Nutrition,” stated that “the NCBA sponsored Beef Checkoff Program is a national marketing and research program funded by producers to increase the demand for beef at home and abroad.” I feel I must correct that statement. In reality, the Beef Checkoff system funds the NCBA, or in other words, sponsors NCBA, to the tune of ,720,000 in 2023, not the other way around.
