Ohio Outdoors - Josh Dutton, Half Rack, and Walleye Trip Recap

This week the guys sit down with Josh Dutton of Half Rack. This newer face on the hunting landscape has provided the market with some pretty cool products from gambrels, gun slings, seats, hunter hangers and more. Josh is one of the founding members and gives us some background on the group. Josh is also and avid hunter who has been in the industry for quite a while so he has some great experience to bring to the table. Paul and Andrew were joined this past weekend by some of the GoWild crew, Private Tick Dick himself, and others on a fantastic walleye charter up on Lake Erie. The boats all limited out, while fishing Canadian water with some giant walleye to pack in the cooler. The guys recap that experience, and thanks to Lakeland Charters for an outstanding trip! Houndsman XP - Trailing off the Chart

The Journey on the Houndsman XP Podcast Network is on a quest to find the most elite trainers in the world. Heath goes to Spain, interwebs, to visit with one of the premier man trailing experts of today's time, Miguel Carbajal Porto. Due to a language barrier Heath has Louis Baglietto translate for Miguel.  Louis is a retired British K9 police instructor with over 30 years in the dog training world. Miguel is a school teacher that was raised with hunting dogs. Miguel switched to man trailing because of the love of trailing. He has written two books, while he is working on the third. Miguel has also invented an awesome tool to help assist him in the training of trailing dogs. (Listen in to hear about it) Louis and Miguel travel around teaching and trailing dogs throughout the country. Miguel's training method is embedded deep in the natural instincts which drive a dog to trail. The three barely scratch the surface on Miguel's training methodologies. There is so much information in this, you may want to listen twice. The Journey is just warming up, you don’t want to miss this one. www.houndsmanxp.com Check out the Sportsmen's Empire Podcast Network for more relevant, outdoor content! N.F.C. - The Fall Sessions Ep. 3

On this 3rd installment of The Fall Sessions, Dan and Aaron cover one topic... MATURE BUCKS. The guys talk about the differences in behavior between young whitetails and deer that have been around the block a couple of times. One conversation revolves around how mature buck just like to be left alone throughout the year avoiding interactions with other deer, until it's time to breed the does that come in to heat in his home range. This is another fun and educational episode that will have you asking "Have I ever seen a mature buck?" Enjoy and share! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Antler Up - A Scientific Approach to Deer Movement w/ Dr. Duane Diefenbach

Hey everyone, welcome to episode 175 of the Antler Up Podcast! On this week's episode I was joined by Penn State Adjunct Professor of Wildlife Ecology Leader, PA Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit Dr. Duane Diefenbach. This was a great conversation with Duane about some of his findings on the Deer-Forest Study related to deer movement. We get into a variety of other topics associated with his findings over the years researching whitetails.   Kicking this episode off, Duane discusses where the study is currently at and where it is heading. This study originated 10 years ago and has a few more until they are finished with it. It was interesting to hear Duane share how it has evolved over the years with technology that has helped them a ton with their findings and understandings. Duane answers listener questions and elaborates on some myths whitetail hunters either swear by or not. Duane dives into some of the major factors that cause deer movement and the burning question of where deer go when the pressure rises. So tune in to hear what Duane and his team have found over the last decade in the Deer-Forest Study and what Duane has observed since the early 2000’s researching whitetails. Check it out and let us know what you think! Enjoy this fun episode and see you next week!  Thanks again for all the support and best of luck out there and Antler Up! This week on the Missouri Woods & Water podcast we finally get another Tales of the Chase episode in and it is a doozy. Nate & Micah get to talk with fellow Missourian Brian Johnson about a once in a lifetime buck nicknamed Fuzzy that he took down last season. Brian had over 6 years of history with this deer before finally making it happen last November. The story by itself is already awesome, but then you get to add something very odd that happened to this buck a couple of seasons ago and it just adds to the story even more. Thanks for listening!  Check out the MWW Website for shows, partner discounts, and more!!! The Range - No Plan is the Plan

In this episode, Ricky and Hollywood have a chat with Vapor Trail’s own Director of Operations, John Betker. Because previous episodes were heavily scripted the plan in this episode, is no plan. The conversation is started with a prompt regarding Turkey Hunting, and conversation ensues from there.  John was part of the team that pioneered many of the techniques we all use today, to effectively kill Wild Turkey’s with a bow. John tells the story that led him to his current role at Vapor Trail & Stokerized, and goes into the details of his 2023 success in the Minnesota Turkey woods. BONUS CONTENT: John gets into a granny fight at a Nashville Predators Hockey Game! Hollywood and Ricky tell tales of how to be successful bird watchers, as well as how to properly flip a coin in order to calculate your next Turkey hunting move. Strange Turkey encounters and public land woes are all part of the conversation.  The guys introduce a new segment of the show called Shiny Things, where they will each discuss thier latest obsession. Whether it be some sort of archery technique, buzz in the archery industry or new product release, be sure to tune in, and comment your current Shiny Thing, below.  The Range Podcast is brought to you by Vapor Trail Archery and Stokerized Stabilizers. [UNCENSORED] - Roosting & Rutting with Horny Toad and Keet Skeet

In this week’s [UNCENSORED] podcast by GoWild, we start off very uncensored and share some of our silly nicknames … find out how Arica got herself some extra unwanted attention on a forum years ago. She went turkey hunting after spotting a few birds on her property. She slipped in and did some calling but the tom was henned up and wouldn’t break away … or so she thought. He came back on his own a little later on and she put the stalk on him but he got away from her again. She leaned on her calling and got him talking and then she set the call down. He gobbled a bunch but never came back in. She got one more chance and got close but may have spooked him. Brayden and Phil have continued to get after it exploring a ton of ground but are having trouble getting a bird to commit. They’ve been finding birds but encountering some challenging scenarios. Dan Johnson is back on and gives some great advice for how/when you can get more aggressive when getting under roosted turkeys. We talk about some other late season tactics as the hunting gets tougher.  Jacob got out and got aggressive too but it backfired on him. He accidentally set up too close to roosted birds and had to make a move to spin around but got busted by two toms. He moved into another spot but this time ran into a deer and a turkey that scattered away hard. It was a tough way to end his season, but now he’s confident next year will be better because he knows where the birds are hanging out. We also tease out some ideas of how you might be able to work a bird that was scared away. Arica found a deer fawn in her yard. This is pretty early so the team ponders the whole sequence of the rut and poses some thought provoking questions. How can trail cams help predict peak rut? We close the show with some random silliness. What is Derby pie? We all share our favorite pie and ice cream flavors. We also banter about the relationship between pooping and coffee.  If you like what you’re hearing, please leave us a rate and review!! [UNCENSORED] by GoWild kicks off your week with shameful nonsense, inappropriate convictions, and unfiltered tales from the woods, waters and whatevers. [UNCENSORED] is a behind the scenes look at our adventures, failures, wins, embarrassing moments at trade shows, hilarious tales from the warehouse, and a good rant or three about the most recent tyranny from the Dark Lord of the Sith himself. Oklahoma Outdoors - A Little Q and A

This week's episode of the Oklahoma Outdoors Podcast is all about the fans! Before recording this week's episode, John reached out via social media and asked for questions from listeners. The topics reached far and wide from choosing a good rifle caliber to protecting your deer feeders from cows. Cows came up more than once actually! While most of the questions were serious or strategic in nature, there were a few fun ones also that let John do a little bit of daydreaming about hunting moose in the Alaskan Bush with Jim Shockey! Huntavore - BBQ Chat with Cowboy Kev & Mikey K

On this episode of Huntavore, Nick is joined by a couple of BBQ pitmasters, Cowboy Kev and Mikey K. Both of these guys live for the live fire pit and the low and slow lifestyle. You can find these guys at the pit or on their own podcast, BBQ Chat. Nick tries to take advantage of their expertise by having them give him some pointers when cooking large cuts of pork. If you plan on putting something on the pit this weekend, Mikey and Kev will have you thinking about your process. WIth the memorial holiday coming fast we need to get ourselves in the spirit of low and slow, on this episode of Huntavore. Cowboy Kev hails from Connecticut and runs Wilee BBQ while Mikey is based out of the Chicagoland area and heads up Man Meat BBQ, yet is poised to head south sometime soon. These two share a passion for barbecue. These two take on challenges that normal home cooks don’t take on, cooking for huge crowds and serving amazing bbq. These guys gave me some great pointers when cooking up pork butts and picnics. First, that butts trump picnics because of their meat content and shreadability. Picnics have more bone and do not shread as easily. Which makes them good candidates for chopped pork instead of shredded. Second, don’t forget to season after the shredding or chop because the outside got all the seasoning, 85% of the internal pork won’t be seasoned. Mikey Kay says for a special punch, add all the juices back in after the shred or chop. cowboy Kev does his whole hogs upside down with a skin facing the heat. Skin does a great job of keeping things in or out, essentially creating a bathtub for flavor all the juices render and can’t run off the meat. You can find these guys, and their show @bbqchat on Instagram. Antler Up - Whitetail, It’s the Little Things

Hey everyone, welcome to episode 174 of the Antler Up Podcast! On this week's episode I was joined by PA native and the 2022 Bowhunting League PA Big Buck winner Taylor Fleischer. In this specific episode Taylor shares some of the little things that have helped him be successful the last few years, but specifically last year on the buck he was after for the last 3 years. Taylor shares the little things that can be overlooked by hunters and how to improve on what you’re already doing.   Kicking this episode off we dive into Taylors hunting roots from when he was a young teenager. This was a great kickoff discussion because at a young age Taylor got the bowhunting bug and from there has worked endlessly to continue his pursuit to perfection. This aspect I believe most hunters want to accomplish and achieve but know the process is a long fun and frustrating journey. We discussed how some hunting experiences shaped who he is as a hunter now. The lessons learned from his past season Pope & Young buck that he plans to build upon. Then we get into the nitty-gritty of the little things that have helped Taylor the last few seasons. From his organization of trail cam photos, reading/understanding deer movement and behavior. We wrap up our discussion talking about how he manages his property in central PA and the challenges he faces with hunting it and hunting where he currently resides.    Check it out and let us know what you think! Enjoy this fun episode and see you next week!  Thanks again for all the support and best of luck out there and Antler Up!
