BMW’s 5-Series has been a staple of the brand's portfolio for over 50 years and has been the home to many of its greatest hits. However, with time comes change. The latest generation of BMW’s venerable 5-Series also ushered in the era of a battery-electric 5-Series. Dubbed the i5, this takes two BMW naming conventions and stuffs them into one. 2024 Lincoln Corsair Review: BlueCruising the Open Highways

Taking the space of Lincoln's discontinued MKC, the Lincoln Corsair works as an entry point into Ford’s legacy luxury arm. While the Corsair name was used as a highly-optioned Edsel, and as a sedan in other markets, Lincoln’s bite at the Corsair apple helps build on both the marques and the nameplates legacy. As part of the company’s push to do away with its Mark naming conventions, the Lincoln Corsair helps the company navigate the high seas of the luxury compact crossover market. Giving this reborn compact crossover a full name might help with brand appeal down the line, but it also helps separate the similarly navigation-themed products from each other in Lincoln’s lineup. While a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 powers the entry-level Corsair Premier and Reserve models, sitting atop the Corsair hierarchy is the plug-in hybrid Grand Touring model. This PHEV blends a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle I4 with a CVT and an electric motor to net 266 hp combined. On this episode of , Autoweek executive editor Tom Murphy hops behind the wheel of the 2024 Lincoln Corsair and puts it through its paces. Murphy takes you on a guided tour of the Corsair and highlights some of his favorite features. Later, Murphy takes you along for a live drive review of the Lincoln Corsair Ground Touring. Adding to these segments, Murphy chats with host Wesley Wren about the Lincoln Corsair, its competition, and its spot in the market. Closing the show, the pair break down what makes the Lincoln Corsair special.

2024 Audi RS5 Sportback: A Complete Package

The Audi RS5 is closing in on two decades inside Audi’s coupe and sedan lineup. Based on the Audi A5, the RS5 follows the same formula as its competition: take a nice, compact executive sedan, and turn it into a brutal track machine. All the while not throwing away its luxurious appointments. While this hopped-up Audi is traditionally competing with legends like the BMW M3 and the Mercedes-AMG C63, the move to crossovers has changed the A5 and the RS5’s scale. Still, this latest RS5 packs a 2.9-liter V6 under the hood that sends 444 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission and into the famed Quattro all-wheel-drive system. Making things even more interesting, Audi will sell this with a pair of doors, or as a four-door sedan that features a lift-back cargo opening. On this episode of , host Wesley Wren hops behind the wheel of the 2024 Audi RS5 and puts it through its paces. Wren takes you on a guided tour of this Audi and highlights some of his favorite features. Later, Wren takes you along for a live drive review. 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty Review: Torque Machine

The towing and torque wars are here, and we’re all in the trenches. Ford unleashed an updated PowerStroke diesel in 2020 and moved the production-grade heavy-duty diesel world into four figures worth of torque. Naturally, Ram punched back with a more potent Cummins that sent 1,075 lb-ft worth of torque to the driveline. Well, for ’23 Ford stuffed a high-output version of its PowerStroke diesel under the hood of its revamped Super Duty trucks and pushed the torque figure to the moon. The star of the latest-generation Super Duty’s show is that high-output, 6.7-liter PowerStroke V8 that sends 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic transmission and to the rear or all four wheels. In a special configuration, this latest Super Duty rig packs enough muscle to tug 40,000 pounds. On this episode of , Autoweek’s executive editor Tom Murphy climbs behind the wheel of the 2023 Ford F-250 Super Duty and puts it through its paces. 2024 McLaren 750S Review: Improving Greatness

The McLaren 720S is a fascinating car. The aesthetically integrated aero in the nose, the gobs of performance from the 4.0-liter V8, and its minimalist interior all add up to a treat to drive. Though, as McLaren shows with the 750S, there’s always room for improvement. The 750S takes the 720S and squeezes 30 more hp out of the turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 bringing the total to 740 hp. Adding to the power are revised suspension pieces, redesigned bodywork, and a larger rear wing. According to the folks at McLaren, the 750S can sprint to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and 124 mph in only 7.2 seconds and runs through its seven-speed automatic transmission before hitting its 206 mph top speed. 2024 Ford Maverick Tremor: Flexing Compact Muscles

The Ford Maverick might have been the answer for a lot of compact pickup fans' woes. The small pickup’s low price, small size, and useful bed have shaped up to create long wait times for prospective customers. Despite no shortage in sales, Ford expanded the lineup of its Tremor option package and the Maverick, by putting the two together. The Ford Maverick Tremor might not be as extreme as its full-size F-150 counterpart, but it does see some upgraded tires, a revised suspension, and a graphics package. Talking Cars with the Boss: 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross and 2023 Mazda CX-5

The era of the crossover is here. Once the sedan was king, then the wagon became the family hauler, and then the minivan. Now, it’s time for crossovers. Naturally, that means automakers will keep finding spaces to throw new models and leverage existing names. When it comes to Toyota, it’s hard to find a name that resonates more than Corolla or Camry, which makes one of them a perfect addition to the crossover lineup. Toyota’s Corolla Cross leverages the existing love for the Corolla’s legacy, but gives shoppers, well, a crossover. Mazda approached its crossover and SUV naming conventions from a different angle. The company stuck with its alphanumeric system that its customers have grown to learn. Of course, the CX-5 is no spring chicken when it comes to the crossover sales sheet and has been in Mazda’s lineup for over a decade. On this bonus episode of , host Wesley Wren chats with Autoweek’s boss: Natalie Neff. The pair chat about Neff’s time with these two crossovers, and give context to the two models. Neff and Wren chat about the evolving crossover space, the hybrid powertrain in the Corolla Cross, and the consistent styling of Mazda’s crossovers.

2024 Mazda CX-90 Review: Stiff Competition

With Mazda’s CX-9 going away, the company needed to replace its largest offering with something more competitive in what might be the most competitive space in the car business. Not deviating too far from its established naming convention, Mazda showed off the new, CX-90 last year and ushered in a new 3.3-liter turbocharged I6 mild-hybrid powertrain. Slightly longer than the outgoing CX-9 in both name and vehicle length, the CX-90 does effectively the same job for Mazda as its outgoing crossover: give Mazda shoppers something with plenty of seats and space. Mazda offers its latest family hauler in two hybrid versions and a lone PHEV version, with the hybrid models packing the 3.3-liter I6 under the hood. The plug-in models sport a 2.5-liter I4 that works with an electric motor to make a combined 323 hp. Helping it live up to those lofty expectations, Bentley has equipped the Flying Spur with three different powertrains. 2023 Toyota GR Corolla: A Rally-Inspired Treat

The Toyota GR Yaris is one of the coolest and weirdest cars to ever leave a Toyota factory. Alfa Romeo might be best known for its Formula 1 presence, or its sporty convertibles that help stop weddings in major motion pictures. Unfortunately, the two-seat cabriolet isn’t exactly helping major automakers keep their lights on. Steering into the meat of the market, the folks at Alfa Romeo launched a sub-compact crossover dubbed Tonale. 2023 GMC Yukon Review: Comfort Over Cargo

Like the Cadillac Escalade from a few weeks ago, GMC’s body-on-frame SUV is predictably posh on its upmarket trim variants. Also like Cadillac’s Escalade, the GMC Yukon is based on the General Motors body-on-frame platform that underpins a Chevrolet analog. Like the rest of this GM family of SUVs, the Yukon entered its fifth generation in ’21 and ditched its rear stick axle. Now sporting an independent rear suspension, the Yukon Denali’s air suspension makes for an even smoother ride. The Yukon Denali comes with 6.2 liters of V8 power under the hood, which sends 420 hp and 460 lb-ft through a ten-speed transmission. Of course, the entry-level Yukon models come with the smaller 5.3-liter V8 as standard equipment, but the 3.0-liter Duramax diesel I6. 2024 Buick Envista: Budget Doesn't Mean Cheap

The low-priced car is all but dead. However, taking its place is the low-priced compact crossover. At least, relatively low priced -- the days of the $6,000 brand new car are all but memories. Starting south of $25,000, Buick’s Envista takes the spot of Buick’s new entry point. Sharing hardware with the similarly new Chevrolet Trax, Buick’s latest crossover separates itself from its low-priced stablemate by offering a coupe-ified shape. Leaning more on exterior styling, the Envista borrows some styling elements from the aptly named Wildcat concept car, like the front fascia design. Though, like the Trax, this Envista packs a 1.2-liter turbocharged I3 that sends 137 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. 2023 Subaru Ascent: Subie People Mover

Before 2018, Subaru’s three-row efforts hadn’t exactly been noteworthy. In fact, more people talk about the odd rear seats in the bed of the Brat than think about the short-lived Tribeca nameplate. Despite existing for nearly a decade, the Tribeca didn’t help put Subaru’s three-row efforts on the map. Though, in a market dominated by crossovers, it was only a matter of time before Subaru would take another bite at the three-row apple. Well, that time came in 2018 with the release of the 2019 Ascent. The Ascent takes what makes Subaru crossovers successful and stretches it enough to make space for a third row of seats. Naturally, powering this Ascent is a 2.4-liter boxer 4 that sends 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque through a CVT and into the standard all-wheel-drive system. Cadillac’s Escalade might not have always carried the weight of legendary models like Brougham or Biarritz. With that ascension comes lofty expectations. 2024 Nissan Z Nismo: Canyon Fun for a Price

The Nissan Z is one of the most important cars in the company’s history. It might not be its best seller, but Nissan’s Z-cars helped put the company on the map over half a century ago. Most recently, the Nissan 350Z and 370Z offered affordable fun performance for over two decades. Trying to build on that success and keep the Z-name alive in a market dominated by crossover SUVs, Nissan brought its Z back without a numerical prefix. Now just named Z, Nissan stuffed a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 under the hood that’s good for 400 hp. Naturally, the Nismo version cranks the performance up a notch and offers more power and a revised suspension. However, this extra power comes with a price hike and no manual transmission. 2023 Alpina XB7 Review: The Ultimate X7

Alpina has a similar story to that of its rival in Affalterbach. Once known for upgrading BMW products, and even an independent automaker, the company was rolled into BMW in 2022. While Alpina is probably still best known for upgrading BMWs, its role under BMW ownership is basically unchanged. Case and point: the BMW X7 Alpina XB7. Technically still a BMW, and not a remanufactured product released by Alpin, this X7 has all the accouterment you’d expect from the brand. The XB7 squeezes more power out of the 4.4-liter turbocharged V8, bringing it up from 523 hp to 630 hp. The Alpina also sports a posh interior and the classic Alpina spoked wheels -- even though the company has moved away from the hollow-spoke wheel-center inflation. 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T : Sacrifices Comfort For Fun

Porsche’s legendary 911 ushered in its eighth-generation sports car just a few years ago in 2019. While the 911’s main layout has carried on effectively unchanged since its inception over half a century ago, it has grown up, added some creature comforts and, controversially, added liquid cooling. Porsche’s latest 992-generation doesn’t buck any major trends and keeps the formula the same: engine in the rear, and available manual transmissions. 2024 Jaguar F-Type R 75 Review: Heritage Hallmark

The Jaguar F-Type is unquestionably one of the most exciting cars to leave Jaguar’s workshop in decades. Maybe dwarfed by the absurd XJ220, the F-Type took inspiration from legendary two-seat Jaguars of yore and brought them into the modern age. Debuting in 2013, Jaguar’s F-Type has had a solid decade in the company’s lineup. Making the F-Type even more interesting, Jaguar made it home to its absurd, supercharged V8. While the F-Type was interesting, and recently saw a styling refresh, it’s going offline after 2024. Celebrating the F-Type, Jaguar gave this model a special 75th-anniversary package dubbed R 75. Formally named the 2024 Jaguar F-Type P575 R 75, you can rightfully decode that this Jag packs the potent 575 hp version of its supercharged V8 under the hood. That power travels through an eight-speed automatic to a four-wheel drive system. On this episode of , Autoweek executive editor Tom Murphy hops behind the wheel of the ’24 Jaguar F-Type P575 R 75 and puts it through its paces. Murphy takes you on a guided tour of this F-Type and highlights some of his favorite features. Murphy later takes you along for a live drive review. Adding to these segments, Murphy chats with host Wesley Wren about this snarling Jaguar. The pair talk about the F-Type’s run, the car’s inspiration, and how it sits in the market amid shrinking competition. Closing the show, the pair break down what makes this Jaguar special.

2024 Acura Integra Type S Review: Taming the Type R

Honda’s Civic Type R made a big splash when it launched in the late 1990s. The Civic Type R gave sport compact buyers around the world a potent front-wheel drive hatchback and fueled the growing interest in Japanese imports. The only problem: It didn’t come to the United States. No, instead Honda decided to shuffle its sport compact onto U.S. shorelines under the Acura banner. This low-production Integra Type R was obviously popular and now commands a premium as a collector’s piece. Fortunately, in 2017, Honda did bring the Civic Type R to the U.S. and finally gave Honda fans the option to easily and legally own Honda’s hot Civic. When Acura brought back the Integra, it was only a matter of time before the company ushered in its Type R analog, and it’s finally here. The 2024 Acura Integra Type S borrows the powertrain and hard points from Honda’s Civic Type R but gives it a more road-friendly makeover. The Integra Type S doesn’t have the heavily bolstered seats or large rear wing, but it does have more power than its Honda counterpoint. On this episode of Quick Spin, host Wesley Wren hops behind the wheel of Acura’s hopped-up Integra and puts it through its paces. Wren takes you on a guided tour of the Integra Type S and highlights some of his favorite features and what sets it apart from the Civic Type R. Wren also takes you along for a live drive review. Wren chats with Autoweek associate editor Emmet White, who also spent time with the Integra Type S. The pair discuss how the Integra feels compared to the Civic and what they both like about the car. Closing the show, the pair breaks down what makes the Integra Type S special.

2024 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Review: More Sport than Luxury

While the Jaguar F-Type is scheduled to see the end of the line next year, this F-Pace moves along with the 5.0-liter still under its hood. While the supercharged 5.0-liter is the star of the F-Pace’s show, it’s not the only upgrade. The F-Pace SVR also receives a special SVR body kit, quad exhaust tips, and revised suspension tuning to take advantage of the supercharged V8. 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 Review: Blending Luxury and Legacy

Land Rover’s legendary Defender nameplate made its return to the United States just a few years ago. This off-road legend was barred from the United States since it departed before the turn of the century, and made an even bigger space for its off-road-focused competition. In its return, the Defender might be softer than its Series and Defender predecessors. Its increased ride comfort might make your commute easier, but the Defender still offers plenty of off-roading chops if you find yourself out in the wild. Powering this Defender 110 is a turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six that works alongside its mild-hybrid system to throw 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. On this episode of , Autoweek executive editor Tom Murphy puts the ’23 Land Rover Defender 110 through its paces. Murphy takes you on a tour of this off-road-focused Land Rover and highlights some of his favorite features. Later, Murphy takes you along for a live drive review.
