Let our assurance in Christ guide us to holy living.

Verses taken out of context to oppose assurance: 2 Cor. 13:5, 2 Pet. 1:10-11

1.Be assured of your current position.

  A. Our position as children is of lasting quality. (Rom. 8:14-16, Gal. 3:26-29, Gal. 4:6-7)

  B. Our position as children is a right, not a privilege. (John 1:12)

  C. Our position as children makes us unrecognizable to the world. (John 1:9-13)

2.Be assured of your future position. (Phil. 3:20-21, Col. 3:1-4)

3.Use your assurance to pursue holiness.

     A. Assurance in Christ is synonymous with hope. (Heb. 11:1-2)
