MESSAGE FROM UNITED STATES SENATOR MICHAEL D. BROWN

It was ill-conceived of our City Council to send up a bill on the revision of DC's criminal code when the Republicans are attacking Democrats all over the country as being soft on crime. For the first time in a generation, both houses of Congress have overturned a District law and the president has vowed to sign it. Republicans have already put in another resolution of disapproval for an existing DC law and called two councilmembers and additional DC government employees before the House Oversight Committee.
