The Holy Spirit that is in us searches the heart of God to reveal the will of God to us concerning the matter at hand. 
 
I Corinthians 2:9-12 
 
9 But as it is written (Isaiah 64:4), Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love HIM.
 
(Verse 9 is Old Testament ...  but in the New Covenant God gave HIS Spirit to each child of God who believed in HIM.  So verse 10 shows us that Holy Spirit searching the heart of God to reveal the will of God to each of us.)
 
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
 
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
 
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

💥 The Holy Spirit brings to our mind the ideas (plans) that are from God.
 
John 14:26  Jesus says:  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in MY name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
 
💥 Devils bring to our mind ideas opposite to the way God wants us to go. 
 
(Devil often brings fearful thoughts to get us to do what he wants us to do which will destroy us and take us in a way opposite to the will of God for us.)
 
Jesus says:  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  (Jn. 10:10)
 
💥  Our own flesh brings to our mind the ways the flesh wants to go. 
 
(Way of the flesh:  Gal. 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

We have to choose the way that is of God.
 
How do we know the way that is of God:  pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy  (James 3:17)
 
Matthew 11:28-30  Jesus says:  Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For MY yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
 
If the project is overly expensive and would work hardship on myself and family, I know I do not have God's plan.  There is likely another way to go.  I begin praying.  If the project is very hard to do and complex, I know I do not have God's plan.  For God's plan is light, easy to be entreated.  So I pray and seek God's plan again.

James 1:5  If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not and it shall be given him.

This month a very large bank went out of business in the Seattle area of USA.  Though the bank is insured, certain companies said they did not know if they would be able to recover their money from the bank, since most of their loans are not insured by FDIC and were in the million's of dollars.
 
What should I do about my money in my bank?  I wondered.

 
So I asked God.
 
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who giveth to all liberally and unbraideth not, and it shall be given him."  (James 1:5)
 
So far God hasn't shown me to make any change, so I haven't done anything.
 
(This is the way we follow God.)

In approximately 1982, I had a dream showing me gold was $900 per ounce.
 
I checked the price of gold coins and found them to be $280 per ounce at that time.

 
I felt God was showing me to begin to collect gold coins and sell them when they got to $900.  So that is what I did.  I began to collect Krugerrands when I had excess money.
 
In approximately 2002, gold reached $900 per ounce.  I used some of that gold to pay for radio broadcasts in Lubbock, Texas, in which I exhorted the churches in ways of God.
 
I used the remainder of the gold coins to pay my contractor for work he was doing on the house I built in Lubbock.
 
(I don't think God wants me to buy gold now during this banking problem in USA because gold is $1900 per ounce.  I could put the excess money into property but I felt that money was for the purpose of taking care of me since I am now 85-years-old.  So I won't do anything with the money in the bank unless God convinces me to do so.)
 
I don't do anything unless I feel I have heard from God because I know the following:
 
Proverbs 14:12  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

God leads us in what to do by bringing ideas to our minds.  God sometimes gives a dream showing what to do or confirming the direction we are thinking of going.
 
Another dream God gave me in the early 2000's ... The time was coming when people would not be able to have separate houses and they would have to consolidate housing to reduce financial obligations.
 
In 2018, I fell at my house in Texas.  God showed me at that time that I wouldn't be able to continue to live alone as I had been doing.  I was approximately 81-years-old when I fell.  As the ambulance workers rolled me past the front door of my house to take me to hospital, I heard these words from God by HIS Holy Spirit:  "You'll never see this house again."
 
(The Holy Spirit teaches us all things and shows us things to come:  Jn. 16:13)
 
Jesus says:  Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
 
From the hospital, I put my house in Texas up for sale.
 
God worked it out for me to move into the house of another believer, so I moved to Colorado.  It has been great!  She has the same Spirit of God that I have.
 
The apostle Paul says to the church:
 
Philippians 4:19  But my God shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by Christ Jesus (The Word).
 
If we need wisdom, HE will give us wisdom.
 
If we need to get out of debt, and we ask God how to do that, God will lead us in getting out of debt.
 
Whatever the need, God will provide for that need by Christ Jesus, The Word.
