But as I've seen my children grow and explore what the world has to offer, I have learned that the reins I keep must be taut at times, and loose at other times.
However, it seems that parenting has gone to the extreme. We keep everything the same regardless of the stage or age of the child.
So my take on all of this is to let 'em go so they can grow!
The K.I.S.S. ~ Let 'em go!
When we let our children go, it doesn't mean we stop loving and supporting them. Instead, you're giving them an opportunity to navigate their own waters, make their own choices, and learn from their own mistakes.
You get to guide them, offer advice, and provide a safety net, but ultimately, depending on their stage and age, the decisions they make are theirs to own.
Further, as much as it hurts, we have got to let 'em go even when we know a failure will occur. Now, I'm not referring to something life-threatening.
But it does impact their life.
Think back to times when you had to do what you had to do in order to learn from the good or bad of your decisions.
The actions children take solidify their decisions regarding what causes good, bad, or ugly results. The more chances they have to express their decisions creates a compound effect. This is where our kids grow up!
Let 'em go!
