Florida has filed a lawsuit in federal court to block the Biden Administration from carrying out a measure to require COVID-19 vaccinations for federal employees and contractors. Governor Ron DeSantis and Attorney General Ashley Moody made the announcement at a news conference in Lakeland Thursday morning. Moody said her office filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, seeking to enjoin the policy scheduled to take effect December 8th, the Lakeland Ledger reports. Thursday’s announcement is the latest salvo in DeSantis’ ongoing battle with President Joe Biden's administration over federal vaccine requirements. The governor and other speakers at the event described the mandate for federal contractors as “heavy-handed” and an overreach by the federal government.
