God wants to rescue His people from the things that oppress us and bring bondage into our lives. The story of the Children of Israel and their journey from bondage in Egypt to the promise land in Canaan, is a parallel to our redemption in Christ Jesus. As God rescued the children of Israel from slavery, bondage, and oppression, Jesus rescues us from our sins, slavery, bondage, and oppression of life in a fallen world. Freedom does not always happen at once, but it is a process.
