Blog-March 5, 2024—9-10—It’s YOUR Business
Our It’s YOUR Business Show on this election day in a dozen or so states—let us take the pulse of those elected officials in our area.
Marshall Selberg---Sioux Falls City Council----had to take a rain check---but we’ll visit with him about his days as a real estate agent and all that he does as a City Councilman in 2024.
While he wasn’t available we did talk with Brent Hoffman---in the South Dakota Legislature—and as it turns one of my lawmakers in Hartford---a town of 3100 just west of Sioux Falls. He has served on the City Council---the School Board and now the State Senate.
We weighed why he has spent so much time as a public official----and if his kids might want to do that in the future.
For Brent---it’s listening---learning----and helping people have their voices heard. He is good at what he does----and as I talked to him---I was convinced he might go listen in a school, a church, a barber shop or a basketball game. He doesn’t have to do it---but he is good at what he does and should be an inspiration to others.
We talked to Casey Crabtree---Senate Leader---someone who shares a lot of his thoughts and time with us---and other reporters. He too comes from Madison, SD—a small town outside of Sioux Falls----tough calls---dollars and cents---the Pipeline---and just where we need to go. I don’t play name games with Casey----we talk about what I---other media—and the public think is important. He has been better to me than a lot of leaders might be----but I try to be a good reporter---listen to what both sides say---and then ask Casey to explain each. He does—and I appreciate that.
In our 9:00 show it was a chance for us to a spotlight on Dillard’s ---which has made the move the old mall area---and opens on Wednesday. Why Sioux Falls---what will people see-----and to me the two ladies that shared the stories with Dillard’s ---what they will offer as enticement to come in opening day---and make themselves as home. It will be different---they have done their homework---and the Sioux Falls public will most likely like what they see with a lot of southern hospitality and my guess is an understanding that they will be new, different, and sincere in their marketing approach.
Our It’s YOUR Business show is about information---what the public wants to know—and regardless of age---what they do---I’m there to try to serve---now 4,401 shows since we joined this KELO Business and Agri Business Approach.
