Do you think of yourself as a passionate person? When it comes to leadership qualities, do you find passion in leadership to be high on your list of qualities? To be passionate about anything, on must sense a feeling of excitement and enthusiasm for it. But in order to show passion, does on need to yell and scream, much like you see some coaches do with their sports teams. To lead with passion doesn’t mean yelling loudly, it means you are deeply enthusiastic about who and what you are leading.
“When a leader is passionate, people feel a deep sense of being led in a worthy direction by someone who is committed to something more important than his or her own individual glory”, says Forbes magazine contributor, Erika Andersen. She writes there are five indicators that a leader has true passion:
- Passionate leaders genuinely believe in what they espouse.
- They convey the power of their belief without dismissing or belittling others’ points of view.
- Their passion is balanced with openness.
- They walk their talk; their day-to-day behaviors support their beliefs.
- When difficulties arise, they hold their principles and find a way forward.
Strive to lead with passion and you will continue to grow and be successful!
