This is Kelly Orchard’s Apple A Day. Sixty Seconds on wisdom, success and personal growth.  Many people adopt their own set of rules to live by. There are also rules to being a great leader. In an article published in “Entrepreneur Magazine”, there is a list of seven golden rules of leadership. When you are a leader, you must promote growth within your company, community or home. 

1. Do what’s right for your people. Leaders who are great have the best interest of their team at heart.
2. Allow your team to own the credit for their success. Good leaders go out of their way to recognize their team’s efforts.
3. Teach them what you’ve learned.  Pass down the knowledge you have gained with your leadership experience.
4. Inspire them and remain positive. Great leaders make people feel good about what they do.
5. Remember where you started. You didn’t start out as a leader, and you’ve had to work your way toward your success, so remember that those you lead are just getting started too!

Being a leader holds tremendous responsibility. When you lead, follow these sound rules and you’ll always be successful!
