I’m a visionary and an entrepreneur. I don’t let it stop me if somebody else has “already done that”. For example: I’m creating a series on the Seasons of Life. I teach about personal and professional growth, through cultivating; planting seeds; branching out and all of these metaphors that I just love! The thing is that, of course other people have talked about this concept of growth. Perhaps maybe my take on it will be similar to somebody else’s – but the fact of the matter is, the branding “growth” goes well with my last name, Orchard. I can use the metaphors and ideas and the concepts all day long. Does it mean that I invented “growth” and if somebody tried to use the word growth in some of their presentations or marketing plan that I should have some sort of claim to that or compare myself to them? No. Does it mean that I should stop doing what I’m doing because somebody else used the word growth or planting seeds, or used a tree in their logo? No. Just do it better or be a little different, or be a little creative or capitalize on the fact that if someone else can find success doing what they love, you can too! If you’re passionate about it, who cares if somebody else did it. Don’t compare yourself to others. Be authentically you and continue to grow, because growth is your purpose.
