There are now firm protocols in place for Saskatchewan's courts when it comes to requesting smudging.

The new protocols were recently used to request a smudge at a hearing in Saskatoon where two people pleaded guilty for their roles in the death of Megan Gallagher.

Chief Judge for the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan Shannon Metiveir (Mah-Tee-Bee-Eh) spoke with MBC about the new protocols.
