4 Strategies To Thinking Like A Winner



1. You must identify unhealthy thought patterns



1. Doubting thoughts
James 1:6-8 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a
wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  7  That person should not expect to receive anything from
the Lord.  8  Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. (NIV)



2. Anxious and worried thoughts
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (NIV)



3. Critical thoughts
Matthew 9:3-4 At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is
blaspheming!” 4  Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your
hearts? (NIV)



4. Sinful thoughts
Romans 8:6 So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control
your mind leads to life and peace. (NLT)
5. Selfish thoughts
James 3:16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil
practice. (NIV)



2. Capture unhealthy thoughts



2 Corinthians 10:5   We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge
of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. (NIV)



3. Renew unhealthy thoughts



Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your
mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect
will. (NIV)



4. Set your thinking on healthy thoughts



Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but
those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (NIV)



Colossians 3:2   Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (NIV)
