The downward spiral of Judges culminates in this story. It's hard to read. There was no King in Israel, and everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Where that led them was so dark, so barbaric, and so horrific. The writer wants us to sit and fully understand the depths of evil that have overtaken the people of God. In the midst of all that depravity and evil, Jesus calls out to us in the silent sacrifice of the woman in this story. Join us on the journey to study the scripture and grow closer to Christ.
