The Nation’s 2022 Report Card reveals that 4th and 8th graders in all but one state [in the US] experienced regression in performance on test scores for reading and math. These results have been attributed to a decline in social skills, which in- turn impacted academic performance, and test scores. Middle school teacher Mrs. P. Leonard, and Elementary teacher Mrs. R. St.Louis-Williams share their methods for improving social skills and preparing students for learning.
