WINNING THE WAR OF WORDS

Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21 (NASB)

  • Good People Can Be Unintentional Carriers Of Destructive Word Warfare.
  • The Closer You Are To Someone The Deeper Their “Word Impact” Will Be.
  • Enemy Words Are Only Dangerous To Me If I Receive Them.

Nehemiah 4:1-5 (NASB)

1Now it came about that when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, he became furious and very angry and mocked the Jews.

2And he spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy men of Samaria and said,

“What are these feeble Jews doing?  Are they going to restore it for themselves?  Can they offer sacrifices?  Can they finish in a day?

Can they revive the stones from the dusty rubble even the burned ones?”

3Now Tobiah the Ammonite was near him and he said,

“Even what they are building - if a fox should jump on it, he would break their stone wall down!”

4Hear, O our God, how we are despised!  Return their reproach on their own heads and give them up for plunder in a land of captivity.

5Do not forgive their iniquity and let not their sin be blotted out before Thee, FOR THEY HAVE DEMORALIZED THE BUILDERS.

     Demoralize - Def: Verb

BUILDING A WALL AGAINST ENEMY WORDS:

  2. Realize What Real Feelings Inside Your Heart Their Words Have Activated.
  3. Stop And Humbly Confront The Person.  Interrupt If Necessary.
  4. Use Your Own Mouth To Fill The Air With Praise And Positivity.
  5. Privately Pray And Claim Your Right To The Unbridled Blessing And Unconditional Love Of God.
  6. Quote Memorized Scripture To Replace The Negative Pre-Recorded Tapes In Your Head.   Psalm 68:19, 55:22,  Romans 8:31
  7. Find A Friend.

So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work. Nehemiah 4:6

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.  Romans 12:21 (NASB)
