Clarke County Revenue Commissioner Tyler Montana Prescott has announced annual homestead exemption renewal forms have been mailed. Taxpayers who receive a partial or total property tax exemption on their homestead residences based on age or disability will receive the forms. Under Alabama law, taxpayers over 65 can apply annually for a reduction in their property taxes on their homestead residence. Prescott said the form, which is for the 2024 tax year, must be returned to the revenue commissioner’s office by Dec. 31.
