Jeremiah Wesley Irvin was sentenced Monday afternoon to 40 years in the state penitentiary for the murder of Fredrick Wright in Thomasville on Feb. 2, 2021. Irvin had been found guilty of murder by a Clarke County jury following a three-day trial on June 16. Circuit Judge C. Robert Montgomery imposed the sentence without any additional comment. Wright was the stepfather of Irvin’s wife, Tiera Watson. They were not living together and she was staying with her mother and stepfather.
