Company Culture - The Secret Ingredient in Trucking

#culture #trucking #podcast #safety

Trucking is one of the most diverse industries in North America. It has changed from the old days of 90% white men to now 60% immigrants from outside of North America. As turmoil around the World continues more people will want to come and live in Canada and we will welcome them. It will change our industry and to ensure we maintain the standards of North America it is going to take all of us to work together and keep safety, respect, and dignity at the forefront.

This month our theme is company culture within the industry and why it’s important for truck drivers and staff to ensure safety and respect are represented. With different nationalities being represented at carriers today a welcoming culture must be present and respected by everyone on the team.

;After all “culture” means in definition: the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of people or society.

;The attitudes and characteristic of a particular social group

A good company culture has nothing to do with the size of the company or the equipment they operate. It has to do with the people and their values and how they communicate them with their team. Those values will focus how you deal with customers and team members. It becomes the river which flows through all parts of your business. If you are a truck driver looking to work with great companies culture is one thing you should be looking for. A good culture will allow you to feel important and respected hopefully growing in your career. A good company will help you bring your best foot forward, learn new skills, and open up opportunities to grow your career.

Enjoy the many great interviews we have about culture in the trucking industry and good luck in the search for your perfect company.
