Peace can actually be painful for some people.
Some are always looking at life as one mess mounting after another.
They are Hyper - Focusing on the next shoe to drop.
Unlearning this way of life can be hard. For some that is how you dealt and how you were raised or witnessed life.
You learned to always deal in chaos.
Evil foreboding can quickly overtake and occupy your thoughts.
You were the one that could get busted in the lip and keep on whistling.
When the wheels are coming off the bus you knew how to change a tire quick or walk.
If it’s not drama filled - you don’t know how to deal with it.
That way of coping protected you for a time but it also actually fuels pride … never Peace.
This is many people ….
This was me for way too many years.
It’s exhausting!
I crave
I protect
I guard at all costs
Peace now.
What I found is Peace is a Person.
It’s not found in the perfect circumstances relationship’s or things of the World.
He never told us to fight battles …
He told us to stand firm and allow Him to handle them.
He never told us all days would be rosy and restful …
He said to rest in Him.
He never said chase the World’s peace or that faux peace will cut it …
He said His Peace is super natural and sufficient and only He can give.
The search for Faux Peace is rampant ….
Don’t be puffed up with pride on how well you can juggle all the junk thrown at you ….
Stop looking for it by jumping from one addiction and compulsion to the next…
Peace is never found in people chasing …
ALL those things are foolish fast and fleeting.
A over - full calendar can lead to an early casket. Not a full life.
An over - drawn account will never be able to buy it.
If you always move at the speed of the world’s “lightening speeds” you will actually dim the real Light of Life that is meant to sustain and strengthen you.
Peace will always be out of reach when you reach for anything other than The Prince of Peace.
Just some thoughts I am pondering today …
