South Australia has joined the nations fight against fire ants.
The Invasive Species Council is welcoming the government's commitment to providing 17 million dollars towards eradicating the pests in south-east Queensland.
The announcement follows evidence from a range of experts to the senate inquiry into the spread.
Rural Reporter Georgia Kondek spoke with the Council's Advocacy Director Jack Gough who says this is good news for the war.
