People have a tendency to abandon the Lord in difficult times, which is not a wise thing to do. Reality is: God’s people experience more temptation to abandon the Lord because people who don’t belong to God don't need to "abandon" Him; after all, they don’t belong to Him in the first place. What happens to us when we abandon God? Is there a reason to abandon God? Why did the Israelites commit this unthinkable act?
