Greetings!

How are you feeling in this moment? I’m feeling energized right now.

This podcast/newsletter is reminder of how time truly flies and to make sure you stay connected and see people in person when you can… even if it’s at a basketball game when you have no idea you will see someone you know.

This weekend my husband, TD, and I went to support our oldest son, Tyriel, who is an assistant coach for the girls varsity team at Griffin High School, for the state basketball playoffs in Ft. Valley, GA.

Backstory alert, for those of you who may not know this, I am one of those unicorns that got married at 52… so yes, it can be done for those who want the marriage experience. 😊 We met at a Walmart in Decatur, GA... that’s a story for another time. TD had two sons when we married. Our youngest son, Dewayne,19, went with us to the game. Back to the story.

The girls won and they will be playing for the State Championship this week! Go Griffin Bears! And that is the reason my meditation session will be on Tuesday vs Wednesday at 8 pm... we will be at the State Championship game!

The next team to play was Westover High School. When the boys came out to warm up my husband asked, “Aren’t they from your hometown?” My hometown is Albany, Georgia. And yes, they were. So we stayed to watch the game.

I took a picture of the team warming up and sent a text to Suzanne, who is my oldest and one of my dearest friends, we have been friends for over 55 years. Talk about a BFF, right? Lol. Text -  We’re in Fort Valley at a basketball game and Westover is about to play. She responded, we are here too! Suzanne’s husband is a teacher at Westover.

WAIT…WHAAAT?

I told TD and we laughed and went through the where are you, looking for them across the gym. TD spotted them and I went over to see them. I also got to see her aunt, Dorothy, who lived next door to me as child. We sat there like two little girls, laughing and then we remembered we had not seen each other since her parents funeral on my birthday, January 22, 2022.

Yes, you read/heard me right, her parents – we buried them both the same day. Suzanne and I live 2.5 hours from each other. We vowed to see each other more. Here’s the thing, we talk to each other at least 2 to 3 times a week, and text each other regularly. We just had not seen each other in person in a year and two months. It felt like too long. Here are the receipts.

Sometimes it takes a random basketball game in a city about 1.5 hours away to connect you with people you love and have history with at the most random time. All because you trust your guidance to send a text. Or should I say I trusted TD's guidance to send a text.

I'm grateful for the technology that made that connection and for TD who said, "why don’t you see if she’s here."

We all have 86,400 seconds a day. Life is in the little moments. Who can you reach out to and say hello, I’m thinking of you or send something random in that moment?

You know I pulled a card today… and there is what came up for us in this moment.
