About

On this episode of the World Game-Changers podcast, Paul is joined by guest-host Lyn Smith to talk about how the pair consciously uncoupled, going from lovers to very close friends, and to prove that there is life after separation.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • We’re separated, we’re parting, & we’re conscious of that, but the uncoupling takes it to another dimension. Not only are we separating in what the outside world might deem a romantic/couple scenario, but we’re also separating all the emotions that go along with that. It’s a different kettle of fish than untangling your bank accounts. I’ve found it “interesting” how that’s worked for me.

  • Love is the ultimate energy & it can be expressed in many different ways. We can have love for our family, friends, even our car or other possessions, we have a different kind of love for our pets, our partners, with give it a name and a box to live in. Love really is the energy that radiates from within us and we then choose how to direct that love.

  • Strip out the label 'romantic', because we’re not a couple any more, but my love for you has actually increased because there’s no expectation that we’ll be sharing a bed or whatever else, as a couple. It’s given me an opportunity to look inward at love in a general sense, and specifically where you’re concerned, and ask what it really means.

  • Self-observation is that key: To ask yourself, why are we doing this? Is it a relatively superficial, ego-driven lovers’ tiff, or is it an understanding from consciousness that we’ve come to a different place in our lives as individuals & we’re maybe no longer aligned in a way that we thought we were initially. To have that understanding helps to create a route map, an exit, to help navigate through all the stormy emotions that prevail which can magnify & prolong the confusion & hurt.

BEST MOMENTS

‘This feels really strange, but in a really beautiful way'.

‘Unconscious separation causes chaos, because you’re then trapped in all the emotions'.

‘We’d helped each other grow so much that we grew apart'.

‘I don’t think anybody who’s been in the love of an intimate relationship can come out totally without any hurt feeling, unless you’re a robot. But you can certainly navigate it to where there will be a bit of pain here & there, but you can let that go pretty quickly & easily'.
