Odd Myklebust ble født på Modum inn i en lærerfamilie. Men journalistpraksisen i Bygdeposten var så givende at læreryrket ble valgt bort. Fra 1988 til 2015 var Drammens tidende arbeidsplassen hans, de siste 15 årene som samfunnsredaktør. Nå jobber han for rådmannen i Drammen kommune. Odd har skrevet flere bøker, den siste sammen med og for Masud Gharahkhani, stortingspresidenten. Svært mange har oppdaget de historiske vandringene i byen der hans egenskaper som historieforteller får utfolde seg.
-Mitt og vårt ønske i avisen var å forandre, med kjærlighet og omsorg å tale byens og folket i byens vel og dermed også ta oppgjør med det som er destruktivt. Jeg savner høvdingene fra gamle dager, sier Odd; læreren, presten og lensmannen. Lederen i avisen bør være en slik stemme. Så kan du være enig eller uenig, naturligvis!
Ypsilonsamtaler er en podkast av og med Ivar Flaten. Ypsilon er den ikoniske gangbroen over Drammenselva. Drammen er elveby og en by for brobyggere. Ivar inviterer mennesker til samtale der kulturmøter, brobygging og samfunnsliv er tema. Odd Myklebust was born at Modum into a family of teachers. But the journalism internship at Bygdeposten was so rewarding that the teaching profession was chosen away. From 1988 to 2015, Drammen's newspaper was his workplace, the last 15 years as community editor. He now works for the councilor in Drammen municipality. Odd has written several books, the latest together with and for Masud Gharahkhani, the president of the Storting. Many people have discovered the historical walks in the city where his qualities as a storyteller can unfold.
- My desire and ours in the newspaper was to change, with love and care to speak for the good of the city and the people of the city and thus also deal with what is destructive. I miss the chiefs from the old days, says Odd; the teacher, the priest and the sheriff. The leader of the newspaper should be such a voice. Then you can agree or disagree, of course!
Ypsilonsamtaler is a podcast by and with Ivar Flaten. Ypsilon is the iconic footbridge over the Drammenselva. Drammen is a river town and a town for bridge builders.
