Trader Joes Grand Reserve San Luis Obispo Coast Pinot Noir 2022-A $13 SLO Pinot Noir San Luis Obispo County which included Paso Robles, Edna Valley, and Arroyo Secco AVAs got repositioned. The San Luis Obispo Coast AVA was organized in 2022 and included Edna Valley and Arroyo Secco, these are some of the coolest temperatures AVAs in California. Paso Robles, which is also inside San Luis Obispo County is a warmer climate AVA that focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. This is the first vintage I have tasted from the new San Luis Obispo Coast AVA, also known as SLO Coast. Aldis California Heritage Brut Sparkling Wine- The Best $4.95 Bubbly? We are named Cheap Wine Finder but we were always about the best value-priced wine, not the cheapest. There is a major difference between the best and the cheapest. Aldi came out with their California Heritage line of wines selling for $4.95 and we had no expectations. Substance Cs Cabernet Sauvignon 2021- The Best $14 Cabernet Sauvignon? This is a wine from the House of Smith or Charles Smith wines. They produce wines that sell for $150 and get 100 points and they sell 90-point value-priced wine. This wine received between 90 and 93 points for the 2021 vintage. I said in the podcast that if they sold this wine for 3 or 4 dollars more it would be a bargain, I meant 3 or 4 times more, that is a major difference. Charles Smith wines have been a favorite of mine for years and this vintage does not disappoint. Aldi Specially Selected Cremant de Bordeaux Brut Rosé-$12 AOP Bordeaux Cremant Aldi wines were virtually stagnant during 2023. In Aldi Europe, there were more than 50 Specially Selected wines released in the last portion of 2023, but most did not make it to the US. They offered 8 different French Cremant wines and now the Cremant de Bordeaux AOP Bubbly made it to my local store in Chicago in the middle of January. It was worth the wait but would have been very welcomed during the 2023 Holidays. Butternut is part of the Miller Family Line of wines, they are located in Paso Robles, but the Butternut Chardonnay is from grapes all over California.
