OKUDUĞUM PARÇA: Ive always been fascinated by Mexico, even as a child. So I was excited about coming here from Canada as a foreign correspondent, and since I arrived I havent been disappointed in anything. Its such a wonderful country full of colors, sounds and smells that are so different from those back home. Before I came here, Id read that Mexico had a much slower pace of life than Canada - but I soon realised they werent talking about Mexico City. Waking up early enough to avoid the 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. rush hour wasnt easy at first, but now Im used to getting up at 5 a.m. every day. And as for driving here, Im slowly getting used to it - but when I first arrived I was absolutely terrified of being in a car. This is a city of 20 million people and it feels like theyre all on the road at the same time. But dont get me wrong, Im really impressed with the way Mexicans drive, theyre amazing. And of course there are rules of the road - it just takes a while for 3a foreigner to get used to them. For example, Ive learned to ignore traffic lights. OKUDUĞUM PARÇA: As I woke up this morning, I decided to embark on a new adventure by setting out on a solo road trip. I got ready and hit the road, looking forward to exploring new places. Along the way, I stumbled upon a quaint little town and decided to pull over and check it out. I was blown away by the charming architecture and friendly locals. I ended up striking up a conversation with a shop owner, and we hit it off immediately. He invited me to hang out at his cafe, where we chatted for hours over coffee. Eventually, I had to move on and continue my journey, but Ill definitely look him up the next time Im in town.
