On the 5th anniversary of the Clutha disaster, Heart's been speaking to survivors who say they aren't holding out much hope for answers from the Fatal Accident Inquiry. 10 people died when a helicopter came through the roof of the pub on a busy Friday night on the 29th of November 2013. Among the crowds were a group of old friends who gathered there every last weekend of the month. They lost one of their number when Joe Cusker passed away two weeks after the accident. On World Mental Health Day, a Scottish mum is urging young men to speak out about mental health, after her son took his own life. 31 year old Stephen McDougall died in London earlier this year. With the rising prospect of a 'no deal' Brexit, Heart's Derek Ferguson visits one of the most isolated communities in the UK to meet a man who fears people could die if food and medicine supplies are disrupted. Howard Hardiman lives on Sanday; one of the Orkney Islands and home to around 500 people. He's started stockpiling supplies and plans to grow more of his own food to cope with the potential negative impact of crashing out of the EU without a deal.

Scotland's air ambulance is now making almost 4 thousand trips a year. The service flies across the country saving lives and transporting patients from remote communities. It is the only government funded air ambulance in the whole of the UK. Heart is shining a spotlight on the fleet of two helicopters and two small planes as the NHS celebrates its 70th birthday. The air ambulance service has bases in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness. The charity-run air ambulance is located in Perth. Our reporter Connor GIllies took to the skies to spend the day with the crew on board.


We're looking at some of the landmark medical developments which happened during the time of the NHS. In 1974, a system was created to simplify treatment for patients with a brain injury. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has met with the family of a Dunblane shooting victim after they visited Florida to support relatives of the Parkland tragedy. Alison Crozier and her son Jack - who lost their five-year-old daughter and sister Emma in the 1996 primary school massacre, in which 16 children and their teacher were killed - were invited to Holyrood on Wednesday. The pair travelled to the US with radio station LBC in March where they spoke about the impact of Emma's death, and the successful Snowdrop campaign which led to a ban on private handgun ownership in the UK. Students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas School have demanded tougher gun laws in the US after 17 people were killed in the shooting on February 14.


Children at Gartconner Primary have been holding a Prince and Princess party to mark Harry and Meghan's big day.


With days to go until the royal wedding, 1,200 members of the public are making their final preparations to attend the big day. Prince Harry and Meghan wanted people to feel part of the celebrations by inviting those who have served their communities to enjoy the celebrations in the grounds of Windsor Castle. The brother of missing singer Scott Hutchison has spoken to Heart about feeling "helpless" as the search continues. Grant Hutchison, who's in Frightened Rabbit with Scott, says his brother's phone is with police after he disappeared from the Dakota Hotel in South Queensferry early this morning. He also describes Scott as being in a very fragile state.


It's a milestone very few people reach, but a couple from Ayrshire are celebrating 75 years of marriage. Bill and Ina Laidlaw tied the knot in 1943 when she was 18 and he was 17. They first met, aged 11, in a fish and chip shop in Kilbirnie. Heart's Corrie Martin - who happens to be their granddaughter - has been chatting to them about their diamond anniversary...


There's been huge success for Team Scotland's Grace Reid at the Commonwealth Games. She's won gold in the diving, on the 1 meter springboard. Her coach Jen Leemming's been speaking to Heart's Rebecca Cook from the Gold Coast.
