Ahoy, Motherfuckers! They shouldn't have done that toilet like that. Who in the hell shits at a party anyway? Also, Derik ruined this movie for himself by seeing it through the eyes of an actual adult, so he was useless for this entire episode. Everyone in this movie was at least 25 when they starred in it, other than the members of Full Force, who were all at LEAST 49 in the face. Oh, and Play is an awful person, and Derik tries to mention how colorism shaped this entire film. Brandon and Scar weren't having it. Enjoy. Ahoy, Motherfuckers! This movie is a bonafide classic. It is literally astonishing that it doesn't get more love. The casting is perfect, the acting is perfect, the storyline is perfect, and the prestige is perfect. Brandon has watched this movie a million times and still finds new stuff each time he watches it. Derik has watched it twice. He missed A LOT. Enjoy. Ahoy, Motherfuckers! By rights, I should hate everything about this movie. Meagan Good is in it. BOW-WOW is in it. Nick Cannon is in it for six minutes and gets star credits on the front of the box, a travesty that was last seen when the late Coolio was put on the cover of Phat Beach and was literally only in the movie for as long as a person with no lungs can hold their breath. The acting is awful. The jokes are awful. It's a movie about skating, but no one can skate. The older I get, the more I empathize with the father in the movie, which is bad when you realize this is a teen coming-of-age movie. They have 25-year-olds playing 15-year-olds. It is the Cuba Gooding Jr. effect in reverse. They literally never show the faces of the characters when they are doing complex skating moves. They are either recording from the waist down, or the waist up. The primary music for the movie came out a year after the movie was supposed to be set. The villain is laughable, and so is his crew. And yet... I love this movie. It is a certified hood classic. Enjoy. Ahoy Motherfuckers! They had issues with coping with the incest storyline in the first movie, but in the third movie, they make no comment at all about the fact that George McFly's great-great-grandmother looks just like Lorraine Baines. Also, Marty should know what a Tannen looks like at this juncture, and Doc only cares about the future being changed when he isn't the one changing it. With all of that said, this was a wonderful way to cap off the trilogy. It is a Western that truly gets better with age. Enjoy. Ahoy Motherfuckers! There wasn't supposed to be a sequel to Back to the Future, and when the sequel was made, it wasn't supposed to be set in the future. It also wasn't supposed to do anything more than to set up the third movie in the trilogy, which was already made when the sequel came out. The movie is beloved, not because of the storyline, per se but because of the scientific advancements that the storyline provided to future time-traveling movies. The rules that they created in Hill Valley still resound loudly 33 years later. We are joined by Cee Brandon and we discuss just how important this movie truly is. Enjoy. Ahoy Motherfuckers! Disney turned this movie down because it had elements of incest in it. Other studios turned it down because it didn't have the raunchy nature of Porky's or Revenge of the Nerds. Their loss. Brandon and Derik were joined by Cee Brandon of the Say Something Nice podcast, and we reflected on one of the greatest movies of modern history and the paradoxes within it. Enjoy. Ahoy, Motherfuckers! You take Batman '89's music, add the campiness of Adam West's Batman from the '60s and give Al Pacino absolute autonomy to do what he wishes. You also have awesome casting, excellent make-up, grand set designs, and amazing costuming, and you have Dick Tracy. Really, all you need is Al Pacino. He took this role and poured cocaine on it. Ahoy, Motherfuckers! You take John Candy and put him into any movie, and you already have comedic gold. But when you mix him with Rick Moranis in possibly his greatest role and add Mel Brooks' writing genius, you have a comedic classic. Brandon chose Spaceballs for the movie of the week, and we had a wonderful time reminiscing about the movie that was so great that George Lucas allowed the Millenium Falcon to be in it. Enjoy. Ahoy, Motherfuckers! Clubber Lang is NOT the villain of Rocky III. Even if I wasn't a black man who thinks the world of him, I would still contend that he isn't the villain. The villain of this movie is clearly Paulie, who happens to be a racist AND a hater, which is just such a poor combination. It isn't Clubber's fault that Mickey KNEW that Clubber would whoop Rocky's ass, so he kept ducking him, and it isn't his fault that he finally had to pull up at the museum to show and prove, either. It isn't like he killed Mickey, either. He just happened to die while Clubber was killing Rocky. That's a coincidence. I love this movie. I love that man. And I really dig Sylvester Stallone for writing such banging ass lines.
