Bette Dam is a Dutch investigative journalist who made a career working in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq. She is currently a lecturer at the Sciences Po university in Paris on the subject of Afghanistan. Dam is also the author of A Man and a Motorcycle: How Hamid Karzai Came to Power. Christina Lamb is one of Britain’s leading foreign correspondents and a bestselling author. Her particular passions are Afghanistan and Pakistan, which she has reported on since an unexpected wedding invitation led her to Karachi in 1987 when she was just 21. Within two years, she was named Young Journalist of the Year and has since won numerous awards, including five times being named Foreign Correspondent of the Year. She is the author of seven books, including I Am Malala with Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai.
